Pleasure cove is a beautiful place. Unfortunately the water in the lake is decreasing to an astonishingly low level. If you want to visit I would definitely recommend coming in the off season not summer as it's much more calm and peaceful and there are plenty of cabins available. The store is also a great place to resupply, but it's a little hidden behind one of the buildings facing the water.
We were very I interested in staying at Pleasure Cove Campground. However, the reviews are 100% correct ” Lynn” was shockingly rude! We weren’t even able to make a reservation due to Lynn’s unwillingness to provide any kind of customer service what so ever. To the owner, Lynn’s lack of professionalism, polities and basic people skills are costing you business and it’s a shame.
I went to visit family at their campsite for a birthday party it was very nice they had clean bathrooms plus porta potty with soap and nearby access to water faucet which was great also for cleaning up BBQ sauce after dinner and there were dumpsters nearby to dispose of trash which was nice and the water was close and easily accessible the kids had a blast we used nearby tree for pinata and had a wonderful time. The scenery was absolutely incredible and the fresh air amazing time all around I will be coming and renting a spot myself soon!!
I hate to give negative reviews, I really do, but I was relying on previous reviews when I booked this site for Memorial Day weekend. Their website is not really functional aside from some general information they say they’re in the process of updating it. When I called to book a reservation, I asked if they had availability—it was a little more than 2 weeks out but I felt like I’d have a good shot since there was no ability to book online. I needed tent camping and they had some site, but she said all their best sites were taken. I was fine with that. She asked which site I’d like, and then emailed me a map, which didn’t really have much detail. We settled on site 66 since the site next to it was still not booked. She mentioned none of the sites left had access to the water. I thought we were talking about access to the lake—but maybe I misheard heard because it turns out none of the sites 11-104 have water. There are coin showers, toilets and sinks, and some port-a-potties, but no potable water. Not even water for washing dishes. There are connections, but they’re all capped off. The sites accommodate 2 cars and 2 tents, but they’re pretty small sites. They’re very narrow. There is pretty good shade through most of the sites however. We were really disappointed that there are no fires allowed. It might be a total Napa County fire ban, but we didn’t see or hear anything about it in advance and I thought I was pretty diligent. I understand that there’s been several fires out here over the last few years, but it was really disappointing to find out as we were pulling up. Each site has a fire ring and bbq, but they’re useless. There’s not really any trails or grassy area for kids to play. You have to drive about 20 minutes to a day use area if you want to play in the water. I would not recommend this place for general camping, unless you a absolutely must have showers or b have an RV. There is a marina, so if you have a boat or are renting a boat, maybe this is a good place for you, but to that extent, you could just pull up for day use. They did have free coffee at the store in the morning so that was a nice little perk. In all, the place is fine if you’re equipped with all the info and know what you’re getting into, but I’ll probably opt for Spanish Flats next time.
Disappointing camping experience but friendly staff. When we arrived at the area with partial hook-ups, people were parked in our site. Had to knock on neighbor’s door and wait while they tracked down the owner to move the cars. Ended up squished between two large parties way over the limit posted online with off-leash dogs, 3 tents per site, and plenty of open pit fires at night. One group had a loud verbal fight with another family across the way. I raised concerns with the very friendly staff member at the store, and then security drove by a few times and reminded one of our neighbors about limits, but then the fires and music were alive and well again that night. The lake was beautiful and kayaking was a lot of fun. Could’ve gone without the anti-LGBTQ comments from neighboring campers. It could’ve just been an off weekend, but I don’t think we’ll go back.
Store is over priced, drinking water tastes terrible I filtered water from the lake instead, cabins are pretty ratchet ex, door wouldn't latch closed, outlets outside of the cabin don't work, window was "repaired" with hot glue. Lake is beautiful though.
Really good place to camp , we enjoyed been there, very professional service, the staff are very helpful specially Gina desousa ,
No fire allowed due to fire season and it's understandable. What really sucks is that we didn't know until we got there because no one mentioned it when we made our reservation.
No swimming No hiking No grilling without your own propane grill No fire pits No pets These are the rules and reality of the campground. I reserved a cabin for two nights for me and my kids. I reserved kayaks in advance. Just under $700 total. We arrived in the afternoon, and left for home the next morning. This place is a barren, drought stricken, hot bright shadless wasteland in the middle of nowhere. If you are not going out on a powered boat, you have no business here. You can't hike anywhere. The cabins are on the side of a cliff, you're walking nowhere but the road. You can't get to the water from your cabin. It's "close" on the map because its a cliff, you have to go to the marina to get to the water. You can't go swimming, theres no swimming allowed anywere near the marina. You have to take a boat out into the lake to swim. You'd have to be incredibly desperate to kayak along the plain bare edge of the record-low water line under the beating sun that's somehow been imported from Nevada desert. I'm not saying the people who work here are doing anything wrong. I'm giving you an idea of what to expect should you stay here. The cabin had an adequate AC. The mini fridge kept items somewhat cool. It's a cabin, not a hotel room, which is fine. But if you didn't bring a boat, you'll have zero reason to step out the door.
It was my first time at Pleasure Cove Campgrounds and I found the area to be clean and well kept. The campers left their areas clean and the matainince people came by and took all the ashes out of the BBQ pits and a crew of men cleaned out the porta-potties. The store at the Marina was only open till 5 pm but they were well stocked with clothes, food cleaning supplies and wine. Very friendly people and across from the store were two very clean bathrooms with lots of room to change clothes. I was there with about 20 family members and friends and we all had a great time.
