I have been a patient of Dr. Quinsey for almost 20 years. He continues to provide high-quality care with a fabulous bedside manner. He has seen me through fertility challenges, difficult procedures, and a partial hysterectomy. He remembers my husband's name, and always asks me about things that are important to me upon each annual visit. His personality is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr. Christopher Quinsey for all your OB/GYN needs. He is second to none!
I had a bad and confusing experience here in Dec of 2022. I didn’t write a review sooner because I just didn’t want to think about it. For most of the appointment it went well. The office was clean. The staff at the reception desk were nice. The woman assisting the doctor was nice. Dr. Q I found okay. Not cold but not warm either. But he seemed knowledgeable so I felt like I was in good hands. Everything was fine until the pap smear. I was shocked at the pain of the insertion. I felt like I had been stabbed. Without meaning to, I let out a pained yelp and cursed admittedly I did say the F word quite loudly After a moment the pain hadn’t subsided, so I told him to take it out. He quickly confirmed I wanted to stop the exam, I said yes and he promptly removed the speculum. I want to make clear that I don’t blame the doctor for the pain. He has great reviews—clearly he knows what he’s doing. And he removed the speculum when I asked, so no complaints with the doctor's actions up to this point. But just seconds later, he asks “do you want to try again?” Like just seconds later…while I still have tears in my eyes, and I’m still trying to catch my breath. He does not ask me if I’m okay. I was still reeling from the pain and I didn't respond. So he said “I need your permission to try again” I looked toward the woman assisting him, hoping for some comfort or something. She wasn't looking at me. In my opinion she looked uncomfortable. I ultimately decline after he asks again. After I caught my breath I asked him “why did it hurt so bad? My last pap was just regular discomfort” “I don’t know, most women don’t react that way” Overall I felt like he was defensive and didn’t believe me. And he’s a gynecologist…how can he just respond “I don’t know” when a patient asks why she experienced abnormal levels of pain at insertion? Like shouldn’t a gynecologist have some theories or want to figure it out? I asked how I was supposed to get a pap done next time—like did I need a pain med or a muscle relaxer or something? He told me no, most women didn’t need that I think he mentioned some women took ibuprofen beforehand and didn’t offer any suggestions beyond trying again some other time. I left feeling completely demoralized. I called my mom crying as soon as I got to my car. I was still in pain but far less with each step I took. I was spotting for the rest of the day. I had him stop the exam before any scrapping was done. So why was I hurting and bleeding? I found that odd and possibly medically relevant but I didn’t think it was worthwhile to call and ask since it really seemed like he didn’t care about my well-being. My experience really confuses me because SO many other people have had great experiences. Like…I showered before I arrived and was polite lol. So what was it about me that he didn’t like? Was it because I mentioned I was gay when we were talking about birth control? Was it because I accidentally cursed when I was in pain? My tattoos? I can only speculate since to me it makes zero sense that my experience with this doctor was so vastly different compared to the majority.
My name is Dr. Pamela Sawyer and I am livid with Dr. Quinsey. I came to him after the hospital told me to follow up with an OBGYN due to the complication of my condition at the time. I brought my lab results and told him how everything came back fine, so I was there to test for OTHER pathologies so I could figure what the issue was so I could figure out how to avoid whatever caused it in the first place. He did the pap smear and stated... it looks like a yeast infection, here's a script for that... mind you my lab test stated I did not have a yeast infection... then he ran all the same tests that the hospital ran. This landed me with a bill over $700 after my insurance adjustments to do what I told him I did not need on top of my initial payment of about $140.53 just to be seen!! Apparently that didn't count towards the first visit, because my insurance got charged for the visit a second time and I'm having to pay that too. He blatantly disregarded everything I said as well as the test results from Advent Health. DO NOT GO TO HIM!
I feel extremely saddened by the lack of sympathy Dr. Quincy had for me yesterday. You were outwardly cold with straight up answers and no assurance like you were just trying to rid of me. It was the most difficult 5mins I ever experienced with a doctor. I was emotional yet I was absolutely irrelevant to you with your "Well that's all we can do so if you're going to pull through with it then just make the appt if not then basically whatever" attitude. I was already nervous about my first time getting a colposcopy done with issues getting one before. You didn't comfort me and tell me that I was going to be in good hands with you or anything. Now you can send a message back stating how you handled it "professionally" and that you're sorry but you and I know how your approach was and how robotically your responses were towards me, it was so inhumane that it hurt my feelings deeply. I was not rude to you at all to deserve this type of treatment. I suffer from anxiety and I couldn't sleep behind your actions. I would of thought that being referred to a specialist was a chance to actually develop a better trust bonding experience with ease but it wasn't at all. Maybe you had a bad day but regardless, your patients shouldn't be made an example of or be your punching bag. You should be ashamed to treat women this way especially with you being a man working in this field, your image is everything. I could only imagine how your love life is! I would not be seeing you again and I am pretty sure it won't bother you because of how frozen your heart is. We need more love in this world, not a broadening of hate. Remind yourself of The Hippocratic Oath you took to be where you are today Mr. Quincy! May God Bless your soul!
Dr. Quinsey has been my OBGYN for over 25 years, he actually delivered my one only child 12.16.1997. He's absolutely the best as well as his staff.
The staff is wonderful. Jenny is amazing always so sweet and professional on the phone and in person. The Physician is knowledgeable and courteous. I appreciate that the female Medical Assistant always enters the room with doctor and remains in the room. It personally gives me a level of comfort.
Good calm environment. Waited a 20 minute in the room but once he came in everything was good. It was my first visit and felt he was real easy to talk to. Always explaining what he was doing. Also showing care and concern for any pain or discomfort I was having. The nurses were also very nice.
I've been a patient with Dr. Quinsey for many years and have followed him to each location. He always is courteous and listens to all concerns. The staff is amazing and we always share a few laughs when I'm there.
My experience in visiting Dr Quinsey’s office was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, everyone was friendly and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience. Dr Quinsey was wonderful and listened to the concerns I had with my pregnancy, I would 100% recommend this office!
Dr. Quinsey has been my Doctor over 23 years now and I wouldn’t even think to switch to any other. He is so patient and kind and always very knowledgeable and answers any questions I may have. His staff are always so kind and welcoming as well. I feel at ease when I have any appointments at his office .
