Super cool place with absolutely top notch pizza. Get the deep dish with the crispy edges! Spaghetti and other dishes also fantastic. Service is by people who actually care about the restaurant and its reputation. Get the small pizza dough to play with for your kids. Great experience all around. Its a little small but maybe tha'ts just part of the deal.
Excellent meal! We visited the Golden Isles the weekend after Independence Day 2023 and the kids wanted pizza on the last night. You would drive right by the place never knowing it was there and inside it is like an Athens, Ga college town restaurant: quaint and quirky! The cooks and owner all said Hello when we came in and our server was friendly. Our pizza was exactly how we ordered it and our drinks were refilled when needed! I would to try a calzone in the future when we return to this hidden in plain sight gem of a restaurant! Parking: There is a reserved parking space directly in front for pre-ordered take out orders
FANTASTIC! As a former Italian restaurant owner and pizza connoisseur I thought that I made the best pizza but I was wrong. Everything about the pizza was perfect! The crust was perfectly cooked, thin and crispy. Perfect amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. Also the Chianti they stock Carpineto Classico pairs excellent with the meal!Food: 5/5
CJ's is a long time island favorite. The salad greens are always fresh and crisp. The salad dressings are homemade. The interior, although small, has a unique quirkiness to it. Tonight's fare was Lasagna. An ample serving portion with a tasty in house recipe with a twist. My table neighbors pizza looked absolutely delicious. If you have never been...go! If its been a bit since you have been give them another try!
How these folks do what they do in the space they are given is AMAZING! The deep dish pizza is fantastic! The hand tossed not too shabby either. But the real heroes are the folks behind the counter. We expected a long wait, they were super appreciative of our patience, and I was equally appreciative of their friendliness! Great Deep Dish Pizza, solid hand tossed product, and a crew to beat them both. Well done! Hats off to the crew of pizza makers!!!!
When on St Simons, this is a quaint place to get yummy pizza and more. And if you’re looking for a tasty meal to give to a friend, for whatever reason, this is the place to go. Your friend will thank you! Inside has limited seating but it’s a relaxed atmosphere for both adults and children. You might consider getting your food to go and sit on a bench by the pier to watch the dolphins as you eat, but beware the birds can be annoying. Finally, you might get lucky and see the human slice of pepperoni pizza. He might just convince you to place an order.
This has to be the best pizza I've ever had. I used to live on St. Simons Island not far from cj's back in the 90's how did I miss this place!!! Ordered take out on 11-25-22. I ordered the Special. 100 percent recommend.
Hostile environment from chef and staff employees. I had a terrible experience at this restaurant and I want to warn others not to waste their money and time here. Here is what happened: - The chef was incredibly hostile to us because he had messed up our order three times. We ordered meatball on marinara with sausage on angel hair. We were provided with spaghetti noodles. When we received the replacement order it was missing sausage. The chef argued with us on the order even though the ticket was written correctly. Then the chef ripped the order straight from my hands and was incredibly rude to us. - We were provided only one side of bread for four orders of pasta, and the chef argued with us also. So everyone gets a small quarter size of bread? - The pasta was terrible as the meatball was dry and tasteless. The large south end BBQ pizza was incredibly dry and chewed like bricks. - The only decent thing we had was the margarita pizza and the calzone, but they were not worth the price or the hassle. This restaurant has no respect for its customers or its food quality. I do not recommend it to anyone and I will never go back there again.
I love the pizza so much I order to go almost weekly decent prices for delicious food and always friendly service, sometimes it can take a little to prepare but it’s worth it
Absolutely loved Cj's. Fresh hand tossed dough, Hubs said its the best Pizza he has had in a long time. I had the Greek salad which was excellent. Small and quaint. Service was SUPERB. Best little restaurant that came highly recommended. And she was 100% correct. Will be our new GO TO when in St Simon's Island. You will not be disappointed.
