Clayton Hills Campground with Kate and JJ

This place is great! First, the owners. So friendly and accommodating. We were booked for a month and JJ came to empty or tanks for us when it was needed. The full time seasonal campers are so friendly. Had so many stop and talk to us. We had a perfect site that was large enough for us to spread out. Yes, the highway is right by us, but it didn't bother us. The shower house was close to us and we could use that as we needed to. There is a nice playground for the kiddos. We would come back here time and time again. The campground is centrally located in Clayton County, near Pikes Peak. Effigy Mounds, McGregor and Guttenberg. A lot of activities to engage in. Great trout fishing streams near by.

Very nice campground. Very well kept. You can tell the owner takes pride in his place. JJ was very friendly and even shared some corn with us. I highly recommend this camp ground. Restrooms: Clean and nice. Handicap access Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly! Lots of grassy area.

Nice trees, friendly owners and campers. Noisy on the weekends. Horrible RV dump4 foot above ground dump pipe, should be ground level. Won’t camp here again unless I get a site with a dump.

Booked a last minute camp trip for this weekend, wanted a place close to Pikes Peak and Effigy Mounds. JJ was very accommodating, we got there when it was dark and he met us at the office and showed us where our site was. The cherry on top was he started our fire for us! Highly recommend it. Fellow campers were very friendly. Close to nearby towns for a bite to eat or drink.

Nice place. A little noisy with the highway and harvest trucks, but great place to stop for the night

Super friendly people, very accommodating, beautiful grassy sites for tent camping! And clean bathrooms and shower house.

Very friendly!!!! Lovely campground!! Green grass, lots of room. Fire pits. Large playground for children!!!! Great price!! A little out of the way but well worth the drive!!!! Highly recommend!! We will be back the next time we are in the area!

Writing as a touring cyclist: campgrounds are well maintained. Shower house is clean and up to date. Campsites are very reasonably priced, especially for tent camping. Hope to return in the future!
