Beds are like sleeping on bare springs - absolutely horrible. For $90 a night, no housekeeping! I had to ask for towels. Stayed 5 nights and nothing was cleaned during that time. Complete ripoff and they don’t care. Complained about mattress and he said he never heard that from anyone before. What a lie - look at the reviews. Had to buy a foam mattress topper. Stains on ceiling….. Just gross. And air conditioning unit very musty.
Only negative. Rooms don't have a coffee maker, they do not supply shampoo. Very clean for a inexpensive overnight, or couple nightsRooms: 4/5
Everything was very clean and staff welcoming. The rooms….holy 1980. The beds are like sleeping on a sheet of plywood, the pillows like 1” thick rocks. And don’t forget to bring TP, because they don’t even leave a cheap $0.89 rollRooms: 2/5
Staff were nice. The beds and pillows were not comfortable at all! Liked the pool!Rooms: 1/5
For fishing trip ideal. Not the ritz Carlton that I’m accustomed too that’s for sure but boat ramp convenient and location is good . Serves the purpose.
This is our third time staying here. Decent price for minimal amenities and mostly just needed a place to lay our heads and shower after being out all day. Pool and the little beach are great and rooms were very clean although the bedding and mattresses really could use a serious upgrade. I can’t say I didn’t have second thoughts before laying on them
The owner quoted me one price, after we arrived and stayed a nightgown,I went to pay. The price doubled! We had no WiFi, no television, he informed me the cable was turned off! He asked if I wanted a refund, I said yes. Guess what, no refund! We ended up leaving a day early, and no refund on that either! Biggest bait and switch ever done to me.
Rooms were a little small for my liking but we made due. Parking was fine for the boat and truck.
Family friendly atmosphere with a pool and beach to enjoy. The rooms and cottages offer a peaceful night's sleep without the high prices that tourist areas sometimes have. The owner ensures any issues that may arise are taken care of with urgency so that everyone is able to enjoy their stay without any mishaps. The majority of the people that come to stay at Lanz have been coming for many years and continue to come back. Please consider taking the negative reviews with a grain of salt. The families that have been coming for 26 or more years wouldn't be coming back if the place was that awful. As far as the recent bed bug review that was posted, it is important to remember that those staying in cottages bring their own bedding and the rooms and cottages are thoroughly cleaned between each stay. We do have docks that are above water and are easily accessible. Unfortunately, the lumber that was purchased to repair any docks that had issues was used to make a bonfire by those that are leaving negative feedback. Please feel free to contact the front office at Lanz for any clarification on the negative reviews that have been left, as we have documentation verifying the bed bug issues is just a lie that an unhappy guest made to make themselves feel better.
I had to make a last minute trip to the Thousand Islands and found this place. The staff was polite and easily accessible. However, the room at the motel part we stayed in is in desperate need of an upgrade. The beds and bedspreads were so used I found myself wondering the worst. The carpet was stained. The fridge was not plugged in so therefore useless until it finally cooled down. The air conditioner had something smeared on the front of it and the air from it caused myself and daughter to have sore throats. The pool looked nice but we never went in because I got my entire family up and out at five am the following morning to leave. Needless to say I slept not one wink and kept all lights on. I had to find another room in the area for my second and last night and wait the four plus hours because I left so early to check in to the next motel.
