The superbly maintained golf course is both demanding and scenic. This outstanding golf links features narrow tree lined fairways and quick, gently sloped greens. The many mature pines and several holes featuring water in play, are only a few of the noteworthy features found on this course. The course was in very poor shape. Really patchy greens.. hard to play.. so definitely don’t go to be competitive. The back 9 was waaaay better kept than the front 9. If I could’ve just played the back 9 twice, I would’ve. Almost wanted to ask for our money back… but the pretty views and refreshing air kept me from going that route. The cost of $55+tax for the round was the cheapest in town, and we definitely got what we paid for.. would highly recommend to spend the extra money and go to the Inn.
Caution- This course is for non serious golfers. Putt-putt fans who chop at the ball, while packing their dog and a blaring boom box in their golf cart, without considering others who are trying to play a real game of golf. By the way, watch out for the whiplash you’re likely to endure from the hundreds of potholes on the dilapidated cart paths. Really?! Cree Meadows- if you want to increase revenue, how about setting the bar higher? Invest in landscaping, golf dress codes no flip flops, etc, no pets on the golf course obviously, and enforce the rules of golf with a marshal. This is what draws serious high-paying golfers. Expensive investment? Yes but once the course is of competitive quality, serious golfers will come and the funds will roll in. But if left stagnant, it will slowly become an overgrown goat ranch. So sad.
If you’re looking for a relaxing golf experience, this is the place to go. We only played the back nine and I only had to pull out my driver for two holes. It was great! The fairways aren’t great but you can hit off of them. I’ve definitely seen worse. The greens are patchy and a little soft, but it makes for easy putting. If you’re looking for something majestic, this is not the course. But if you’re looking for a fun, relaxing and stress free round of golf, hit this place up.
A walloping good time if you don’t care much about your golf game. Truly ranks as the worst maintained course I’ve ever played. But the wild horse and elk droppings, plus the wooly greens made it all very comical. It has potential if someone cared about maintaining it. Doubt if we return.
worst service ever.. took 30 minutes for drinks and 1hour or more for food?!?! the workers are strictly disrespectful to. do better and clean this place. the restroom was god awful.didn’t ever give me cheese on my CHEESE burger. and gave us each of our foods 30 minutes apart. never gave us silverware and never got refills. the owner made my friend cry and pushed her and just walked away?!? took 10 minutes to get cheese to. this place deserve to be shut down.
The conditions on this golf course are atrocious and perhaps the worst course I have ever played on. Greens are horrible and not puttable, fairway is over grown they haven’t mowed in months grounds keepers, management and owners do virtually nothing for the course. There are far better places to spend your money. This place is a prime example of how not to run a golf course.
Have to say, this is the worst golf course I have played. Cost 35 not to shabby at all for 18. But they have you pay for your rider, 10 dollars. All greens are absolutely not puttable. Poor maintenance of all parts of play. Greens again were absolutely horrible and will not play there again. Don't waste your time here unless your new and you do not know better.
Do NOT waste your money. This is literally the worst golf course I have ever seen. Looks like a patch of weeds. The greens aren’t even greens. This course was nice about 7 years ago. Now it is horrible. What a waste.
Played here lots in the late 90s and early 2000s. Had fond memories, went last weekend and course was in rough shape. Cartpath is primitive at best, lack of rain, wild horses and other animals picture of horses eating 14th green have taken a toll. This place need some maintenance for sure. Hopefully it can be restored to previous beauty. Staff is very friendly and will come back if I get a chance.
The fairways were not cut and the greens also were not cut. Hard to tell where the tee box was on some holes. For a course in Ruidoso, a major tourist location, this course should be much better than that.
