Modern facilities provide you every advantage.
The tri-level music building with practice rooms, a music technology lab, classrooms, offices and rehearsal space provides a stimulating learning environment for students.
The newest building on campus, the Audrey Hirt Academic Center, houses the 250-seat Dr. Barrett and Catherine Walker Recital Hall, providing additional performance and rehearsal space for the music department.
Adjacent to the music building is the outstanding Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center, frequent stage to some of the world's finest artists such as Andre Watts, Emmanuel Ax, Janos Starker, Kathleen Battle and the Juilliard String Quartet, along with stellar opera, choral, instrumental, and dance performances presented by students and faculty of the Mercyhurst Dance Department, and the D’Angelo Department of Music.
The mission of the D’Angelo Department of Music is to provide an undergraduate curriculum with comprehensive instruction to students seeking degrees in applied music (performance), music education certification, or a Bachelor of Arts degree. Successful completion of these degrees will enable students to take a meaningful place within their communities, assist them in becoming happy, healthy individuals and lifelong learners in the arts. It seeks to do this within the context of a liberal arts college and with a deeply personalized approach to learning.
