We have always stayed at Wyndham hotels and have never had any issues…. We even recommend them to friends and family. This time, our experience was not so great. I’m honestly surprised that Wyndham would even put their name on this hotel. When we first opened the door to our room, it was one of the worst musty odors I have ever smelt. We had to leave our door open for the first hour of being there. The carpet was disgusting. There were white streaks on the headboard of the bed who knows what that was. The bedside light didn’t work. The drawer didn’t have a handle. The housekeepers don’t supply wash rags in the room, you have to obtain these at the front desk if you can find anyone down there to help you. There was mold growing around the shower and in the bathroom probably what the smell was, and probably the reason we woke up with congestion and sore throats the next morning. There are holes all in the bathroom walls. The toilet only flushes every other time. ALL THIS WITHSTANDING, WE WOKE UP WITH BITES ON OUR LEGS AND ANKLES THAT MORNING. Who really knows exactly because I don’t have proof of bedbugs, but I went to sleep without them and woke up with them…. Do with that information what you will. If I would’ve known the condition of this “hotel”, I wouldn’t have stayed at this Wyndham location even if you payed me to. No human being should be staying here as it is a complete health hazard and needs to be reported to corporate immediately. It either needs to be gutted and remodeled, or more than likely, demolished.
Our favorite place to stay. The staff is amazing, so kind , helpful and always smiling. Yes, it’s an older place but they are working hard on fixing it up and have done a great job so far. The bed are super comfortable. Kimberly is always a joy to talk to. She makes you feel like you are one of her family members. Always great to stay somewhere and feel like your at home. Great job to all of the staff. Rooms: Love love the bed super comfortable Food & drinks: They always have enough for their guest
Not bad for a last-minute trip... Everywhere was booked except this hotel. It's an older hotel, but the bed, TV, and furniture were modern. The tub and bathroom door could be remodeled. It wasn't a dirty room but the owner could put a little money into it and make it a great place. Location was awesome! Rooms: Not dirty, but the tub and bathroom door could use remodeling.
Great location on the strip. Although staying in a holiday weekend I expected some hick ups, I didn't expect to have to drive around to find parking at a hotel I paid almost $200 a night for. We offloaded and carried our stuff almost a block and a half. The issue was that the parking lots are not monitored. There was a guy parked in our lot who had just been fishing. Several other vehicles without a parking pass. The pool was another story. It's rather disgusting, we found hair floating everywhere, chips on the side of the pool and in need of a lot of work. Some parts seemed they could be a hazard. The breakfast left a lot to be desired but it worked for the short stay. My biggest complaint of all is that they have a staff member yes I understand his situation but in a real feel of over 100 degrees, his dog was in his van in the parking lot. I called the police department and before they got there, the other staff must have let him know because he came and got her out. He gave me every excuse in the book telling me there was a fan in the back of the van, blowing what can only be hot air because the windows were barely cracked. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had a great view of the fireworks. If you're in a pinch, this would do, but certainly don't make the mistake we did and wait until last minute to book. Rooms: The rooms were clean and spacious. Walkability: Great location at the end of the strip to walk to everything.
When leaving the hotel after staying 6 days stay in one of the suites. Was woken up early in the morning by a woman and small children playing and crying litterally in front of our room. The kids were kicking the door, laughing, arguing and playing . When we opened the door, we found a grown woman, 3 small children and teenager. There was remnants of food directly in front of our door. The children were sitting on the floor. in front of the door. I asked them if they were okay? They said yes. I then stated they woke us up. There was no apologies, just sat there They didn't move when we shut the door. The woman is a Days Inn staff member. There was food all over the hallway where they parked themselves. We clearly had a "Do not disturb" sign on the door. When bringing to the attention to the front desk when checking out. She wasn't shocked nor surprised. She said nothing till we were leaving said "sorry" and that was it. Do better. Small children should not be at a hotel with the staff members of any hotel establishment.
This hotel was a great experience because of the great location and service. In particular I would like to thank Kimberly who was quite the pleasure to have in the breakfast area and the cute ducks who roamed around the parking lot. The only drawback I found was the one roach in the bathroom and the lack of good wifi. Overall, however, I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone willing to explore the smoky mountains.
First off, the front desk staff was very kind and friendly when we first arrived for our vacation. No issues there. However, the rest of our stay was not very pleasant. We were staying for a week so we got a complimentary upgrade to a bigger room with a jacuzzi, in a building separate from the main hotel building. We happened to be placed right next to a room where an employee was staying Kimberly, who works the breakfast bar. Kimberly was having a man named Jason stay with her, who was extremely loud and disruptive. When we first arrived to our room he was swearing and calling her all kinds of vulgar names, which made us uncomfortable. Throughout the next week, we had to overhear multiple fights between them. They had conversations about using tasers, getting Jason clean from drugs or alcohol I’m assuming, and just various arguments that got loud at times. Additionally, Jason’s car was parked in front of our room the whole week without a parking pass I might add, which he should’ve been towed for. He was drinking in his car and basically sat in his car every single day for the entire week. There were times when we stopped back at our room during the day to refresh or rest for a bit, and he would rev his engine extremely loud while the car was in park for no apparent reason. He was very disruptive and his demeanor made us extremely uncomfortable, to the point where we almost asked to be moved so we didn’t have to be around it. On our last day while we were packing up the car, Kimberly was telling Jason that the hotel maids do not wash the comforters or sheets and that the hotel has had problems with bed bugs. That’s obviously not a nice thing to hear after we’ve been sleeping in a potentially dirty bed for the past week. This will definitely be our last stay at this hotel. The location is convenient being right on the strip of Gatlinburg, but the clientele was not nice to be around for a whole week.
The only reason I gave five stars for service is due to one employee who is a server there during the breakfast hour. Kimberly deserves to be praised for how hard she works, how she does it all w a smile even when other guests were not so friendly. Her kindness, attentiveness and attitude were spectacular! She loves what she’s doing and she should be in management! Those managers/front desk ladies have attitudes and don’t seem to like their jobs. There were obvious issues w rooms etc… Kimberly so impressed us we would steal her and hire her away from there if we could! She needs to be promoted and praised!
Had a little problem with my room and they done me great on another Room. I highly recommend this place. All the employees was very friendly & helpful to us. Even got to expirence a bear outside our room that makes it round every evening at the same time. Breakfast was fair but we rather try all the different restaurants in the area. We only ate twice at the hotel in the 7 day stay. Nearby activities: Ober mountain, short walk to space needle, Crazy Mason, and shops. Safety: Was very safe. Never had no problems with people messing with items in our truck bed.
