Very disappointed with Dr. Soto! We thought that he was a doctor we could trust to care for our autistic son but we were wrong. After an unsuccessful attempt to remove my son's tooth, he referred us to another oral surgeon so we chose Dr. Achong (Oral Facial Surgical Arts, PA). While at the appointment, Dr. Achong made a point to say that he was aware of our situation because "he's the one with the father that got upset." WHAT! I could not believe that a dentist I trusted would not only share our experience but it was used as a bias against us. Once Achong made the connection, he became very stand offish and rude (he didn't even greet my son but expected us to trust him to perform surgery). After Dr. Soto performed the oral procedure, my husband had a conversation with Dr. Soto because he felt that he did not clearly make us aware of our options prior to subjecting our child to oral surgery. Our son was a patient of Dr. Soto for almost 2 years and it baffles us that he never caught on to the oral issues that our son was experiencing. We were never made aware of any oral issues until surgery was required, which makes us question the thoroughness of his examinations. Additionally, knowing our son's condition, why not provide options instead of assuring us that the work could be done (I attempted to cancel before but was assured by the nurse that this was the best option...should have followed my gut). But then to refer us to a surgeon that you've shared this experience with is unprofessional. This situation was not only uncomfortable but completely unnecessary. It's sad because I really thought we found a practice that we could trust and support for years to come. We feel manipulated and disrespected and this office has proven itself untrustworthy. Very sad to have to part ways because there are some awesome assistants and staff members on his team. But the health, security, and well being of my child is much more valuable.
