This was my go to vet for years and then about 8 years ago they sold out to a corporation setting. They changed from the neighborhood vet into a uncaring business that only wants your money. This morning, I called them because one of my dogs was gravely ill. Sheet white gums, jaundice eyes and all the bad bodily fluids. He was dying. These uncaring people REFUSED to look at him. They said "we have not seen the dog in 6 years so we won't take him". Sorry that my dog hasn't been in need for care in 6 years and since this place charges an ungodly amount for annual shots and I have 4 dogs I simply have to get them elsewhere or go broke. THEY REFUSED, LET ME REPEAT, THEY FLAT OUT REFUSED TO LOOK AT A DOG IN DESPERATE GRAVE CONDITION. You decide if that's the kind of vet you want. I took him to McDonough Animal Hospital where they immediately took him in and are trying their best to save him. While the prognosis is grim, at least they care.
So glad my wife found this place. The vet takes his time explaining everything and all the options available for treatment. They provide top notch care for our boy. Glad we found it and will bring our pets here for as long as we live in the area. Staff is A++
Usually vet clinics have that underlying odor of animal urine and bleach, but this one was so clean! The office staff were prompt and courteous and so nice to deal with. The vet techs were quick and knowledgeable and showed lots of love and compassion. The actual vet was very very patient with our Shar Pei who can be very standoffish. He even got to the point of letting him touch him which if you know anything about the breed is practically a miracle. He explained everything in great detail and I had 100% trust in his care. If I could give them a million stars I would. Will only take my pets to them from now on.
Our fur babies, Peanutbutter and Badger, have been with East Lake Vets since 2008 when we brought them home as adopted rescue cats from the Jasper County Humane Society. Immediately, we knew we were in terrific hands for their initial well baby check and having their sterilization procedures. For 13 1/2 years, we have been so fortunate that they have been very healthy indoor cats. Cat owners know that cats are extremely guarded about showing illness; the signs of not feeling well are quite subtle. Tuesday, night Badger just didn’t seem like himself. By Wednesday morning, Peanutbutter had us concerned as well. Turns out she had developed a sinus infection cat sneeze…joy!. He had an awful stomach virus appreciated the sneeze much more than I knew. He was severely dehydrated and has now had three trips for follow up care just to make sure that everything is completely taken care of. Dr Morris is so wonderful and treats his patients and ‘parents’ with compassion and a sense of humor. He explained a lot about the anatomy of what was going on and what to watch for, really putting our minds at ease. People love to be recognized for great work, and they should be! Thank you for taking care of ALL of us!!!!!
Went to this vet today at 5:00pm for the first time after my dog became suddenly ill. They did not hesitate to see us quickly without an appointment so late in the day. He was very sick and We ultimately had to put him down the same day. All of the staff was great during our time of sorrow and grief. We were so very sad and the staff cried along with us. They were very reasonably priced and offered us several options and gave us time to think about our choices. The process was very smooth and we appreciated all of their time they spent with us as they had to stay past closing time for us! We will not hesitate to use them again for our future pets! We appreciate you guys more than you ever know!
One star is too many. Got to vet with dog having not ate in almost 48 hours, and told would not see without appointment. What good is a vet if they only want to schedule a routine visit? Directed to another facility they own that has seen our baby before but not impressed. They want an appointment too. Think hard about putting your faith in a vet that may not care when you really need more than a vaccine. You can get those at any mobile clinic.
It is concerning to see the lack of care and compassion that East Lake Vet has. I took my dog in for the vet to check how far along her pregnacy was and I was told by the 2 techs that they would not see her. I saw the vet walk by and asked if he could take a quick kook at her and just guide me in the right direction as to where i needed to take her. The lead tech stated that he was not the vet that she saw last time and said that i should try their Stockbridge clinic. I called that clinic and she also stated that they will not see her. This tells me that the ways i was treated, is how they were trained. It starts at the top and works it way down through the staff. I ended up driving 35 minutes away to Fayetteville where they saw my dog upon arrival and immediately admitted for a C section and delivered a healthy puppy. As a small business owner in Henry county, I see a lot of people. I will never return to or recommend East Lake vet to anyone. If you have a concern for the health of you pet, take the extra time and drive elsewhere.
The staff here are grrrreat, and I love the great service and care they give to my fur babies !!
I will never take my other dogs back here. I have used them for over 25 years! I know my business will not hurt his pockets and the lack of compassion, concern and not even calling after several calls and emails. No response. My dog was misdiagnosed back in October by Dr. Morris who stated my dog had bronchitis when he had CHF. He had all the symptoms of CHF. He prescribed him steroids which should have not been given to a dog with CHF and he died on December 15th. They refused to see him when I called when he was in distress and luckily another vet not associated with this one took him without hesitation. They told me what was actually wrong with him and prescribed him meds. Unfortunately it was too late. Not only was he my pet, he was my service dog. Dr. Wagonner, you have lost what you were sworn to do! You have your other vets running people and their pets through like an assembly line! All you care about is the money. With the influx of residents that have moved to Henry County, as I said won’t affect your pocket! My heart is not only broken it is shattered! I pray for God’s mercy on your soul and to the rude receptionist who asked me what was it that I wanted her to do! Not only was this disrespectful, heartless, and the lack of compassion when I was in hysterics trying to save him and so very unprofessional! She shouldn’t be working there!
Dr. Morris is so caring & patient with his patients.
