My major offender last night 9/8/23 at roughly 2am was a black male nurse with a mohawk. He was nasty with me the entire time. No verbal exchange, just, “gimme this arm and that finger. These the pills. That’s the water right there. Her ya discharge papers.” AND HE WAS FUNKY LIKE HE MISSED A FEW SHOWERS!!!!! Unethical and lacking hygiene smh! Now I figure he doesn’t wash his hands between patients and he’s a carrier of illness. Back in 2013 this place was like heaven from intake to discharge in comparison to all local hospitals, but now they’re worse than Southern Regional. They allowed me to suffer in pain. No human compassion, customer service, empathy, CARE. It was as if I’d certainly offended these people. They gave me the pain meds AND shot right upon discharge, proof that they enjoyed seeing me suffer in pain. I told the nurse I was leaving and he said, verbatim, “you been here like three hours. Why leave now? If you wait we can get you something for the pain.” A registered nurse with the mental capacity of any old McDonald’s drive thru workers. In fact, they’re better at handling the public than he was. He just shot me and discharged me. Didn’t even ask if I were driving.I just rushed home since I don’t live far. What a soulless, Spiteful, venomous hunch they have here now. Next time I’ll just find my arsenal and do myself to avoid this billed terrorism. Seems like their main goal was to make me feel WORSE!!!!!!!
I checked in at noon today after going to urgent care where their treatment and diagnosis was a possible esophageal obstruction. Came in with the referral and 11 hours later I have had only a CT with contrast. I've been ill, vomiting and the complete inability to get any liquids down. I am dehydrated and told the nurses who were assessing my vitals after the scan. This is ridiculous. Since the first part of the review, I made it to a room and found the care to be wonderful. My end result was a scope to determine the problem and the medical staff and Dr. Rabin were all wonderful. I left very satisfied with their care. My only complaint is with the waiting for ER treatment. I don't know if it is a staffing issue but I was not the only frustrated patient. There was a group of 6 of us all having been there since noon or shortly thereafter and were still waiting at midnight. No one was happy. Piedmont Henry needs to review their procedures when it comes to transitioning patients from their initial walk-in to the ER to the prescribed treatment for the medical issue they present.
They get you to draw blood take ex-ray if needed then you spend 7-8 hours in the waiting area. The front desk just says, we don’t know the wait time…..I pray other hospitals are not doing this. I understand that some injuries take priority but to wait over 7 house for someone to read test to determine your injury seems like bad business to me
Waited to be seen for 6 hours. Watched 2 sessions of full waiting room’s patients clear out & the staff change shifts as well. I might as well have died in 6 hours. Not to mention the receptionist was caught sleeping multiple times at the front desk when we asked questions. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but this location is trash. If you have a serious emergency please don’t come here
My mother was brought to this hospital by EMS after a cardiac arrest and 15 minutes of CPR preformed. All of my mother’s initial test pointed to a heart attack. However, this hospital set my mother in an ER room for 10hrs after suffering a major cardiac arrest on nasal cannula. Two hours later my mother went into respiratory failure and was placed on life support and wrist restraints. My mother didn’t get to ICU until 11pm that night. They didn’t start giving her any medications for her heart until 24hrs later. We were told my mother went too long without oxygen and will never be the same. This hospital has pushed my siblings and I to withdraw care for my 49 year old mother since the day she arrived. They refuse to help her because they say there is little chance of recovery. I am 100% sure my mother is in this condition because she was brought in by police and she had no insurance. It is clear there were no efforts to save my mother’s life upon arrival to the ER. I will not sleep until this hospital pays for what they did or didn’t do for my mother!!!!!!! This hospital is a death trap!!
My wife and I recently had the wonderful experience of welcoming our new baby at Piedmont Henry Hospital. We were tremendously impressed with the quality of care, professionalism, and compassion demonstrated by the entire team. The nurses in the delivery and NICU units, support care staffs, notably Brenda, Pam, Johana, Sherin, Kayla, Tiffany, Savanna, LaVerne and others, provided exemplary care. Their expertise and comforting demeanors made the process so much easier for us. They worked tirelessly to ensure that both my wife and our baby were comfortable and well-looked after. We were also in the excellent hands of Dr. Haugabrook and Dr. Cruz. They were not only knowledgeable but also very reassuring, providing clear explanations and patiently answering all our questions. The lactation consultants, omg, Gail and Josh become our concert buddy, were another asset to our postpartum experience. Their advice and support have been invaluable in our baby's feeding journey. Lastly, we would like to mention Denise, the hospital's photographer. She made our first family photo shoot a wonderful and memorable experience, something that we highly recommend to all new parents. We can't thank the Piedmont Henry Hospital staff enough for their part in our life-changing journey. We will forever be grateful for the warmth, patience, and professional care we received during our stay.
Let me begin this by saying prior to my 8/8 2023 experience, I have had 2 previous experiences on this hospital’s CCU both of which went well. The 2 stars are because there were a few staffers who went above and beyond. What bothered me most was the constant lying from some of the staff. When I came to the unit following a cardiac procedure, I was assigned to room 4116. It was extremely cold I asked if the thermostat temperature could be increased. Workers looked at the thermostat and said it’s on 80 degrees. One worker said she would put in a work order and have someone come up and fix it. Needless to say that never happened. The monitor in the room was loud and annoying, I simply could not sleep. I asked personnel on two shifts to lower the volume and they lied and said they didn’t know how to lower the volume. In pain, in a freezing room with an obnoxiously loud monitor, this was night a prescription for good recovery. I complained to one staff members my throat was getting irritated from the cold. Her response, I can bring you a warm blanket and you can rap that around your head. I said the irritation is in the back of my throat she said dismissively, “Sometimes you got to improvise”. Later, I pressed the call button and asked for something for pain. The person who responded to the button said, “Who is your nurse?” I said I don’t know, she then responded, “…look on the board, her number is there call her. When I see her I will tell her.” I could not believe this was the same unit I had been on twice before or that this woman thought she gave an appropriate response to a post surgical patient. Things did get a little better the next morning I got a great nurse and technician. The nurse lowered the monitor volume and was always pleasant and professional. However, with return of all of my faculties I was able to surveil the room. WHAT A DUMP!!! The room was not just dirty it was nasty. Ceiling tiles were stained and dirty. The blanket was stained and one of the pillows appeared to have makeup stains and some red substance on it. This pillow was the bottom pillow of 2 pillows with the dirty side turned down towards the mattress. At this point all I wanted to do was get out of this place as quickly as I could. I do intend to tell my provider if this is the only hospital she has privileges, then I will probably need to get a new provider. It seems Emory has some type of symbiotic relationship with this place. How tragic!!
ER is the worst. So sad to see this once used to be good hospital go down hill. We have came several times and it takes a full 8 hours just to be seen on a regular non busy day. Everytime. One time we even walked out it was so ridiculous. Called us the next day telling us they were ready. People will die under their watch. Saw patients dedicate on themselves and the nurses didn’t even flinch. Left him there sitting for several hours. Can’t imagine how things will work if they have a trauma coming in because there’s no way they can see more than one patient every 3 hours. Piedmont, do better. We have so many new apartments coming up, PEOPLE WILL DIE if you do not make changes to the way you run your ER.
Been here for labor and delivery over night. Momma to be has not received dinner or breakfast and it’s 10 minutes til 0900. At this point I’m going to have to go get food like I had to last night. Which means paying additional parking fees although cheap. Gowns received from hospital are torn and worn out with holes. The immediate staff dealing with us nurses seem to be nice. But waiting to push a baby out on an empty stomach isn’t ideal. I wonder if they give a discount/refund for not feeding her.
This ER section of this hospital is TRASH. It’s clean but the staff can do a LOT better. This is the second time I’ve had to leave this hospital in immense pain, crying, and bent over, simply because the staff wants to take their time and then treat you as if you’re annoying because you’re in pain. A lady was spitting up BLOOD and they left her waiting for HOURS before I had even got there. There’s maybe 4/5 people out of the entire ER department that shows they care and I don’t mean in one shift, I meant out of all the employees that take shifts in the ER. This is sad. Not to mention all of the YT and Hispanics were getting called left to right but the people I saw that needed major attention were pushed back into the waiting room and left there. I had to order another Lyft and go to a different hospital. And there is NO WAY an entire staff left a elderly lady sitting between the bathroom doors with the “INTENT” to help her go, but left her there until a male nurse walked by and noticed her. He asked where she was supposed to be and all the other nurses just looked around with banal expressions and said they don’t know or so-and-so had her. He asked why no one checked on her and they all basically shrugged him off as if he wasn’t talking to them. This was the very first time I walked out of this place. Decided to try you again last night because y’all are closer and let’s just say, I’ll pay a bigger fare and chance having a heart attack from GERD in this longer ride to a better hospital where I KNOW people will care about me and my blackness.
