It has come to my attention that my primary care physician has decided to shift the emphasis of her remarkable talent to those in the Veteran's Care sector. While it undoubtedly comes as a loss to me personally I am overjoyed for my courageous brethren & sisters in uniform for their good fortune. There aren't sufficient stars in the universe let alone the meager 5 offered to measure this doctor's contribution to her art. I salute her skill-set, but most of all her basic humanity & compassion for anyone fortunate enough to receive her dedicated focus without parallel. A Grateful Patient & humble veteran. Thank You Dr. Marissa Black M.D. Mike Kirwan - Kenmore, WA
I would like to leave a review for an individual I saw yesterday in the Evergreen Hospital Emergency Room. My mother had fallen and was taken to the ER by ambulance. She had a very bad cut on her leg which required stitches and 16 staples. One of the aids was Gavynn. He was incredibly warm and personable and very efficient. He taught me how to do wound care and dressing. He made our stay there pretty easy. I really appreciated how friendly he was.
I visited this hospital in July. I had a serious dog bite injury to my eye, scalp and nose. I was put on the “triage” process yet it took over five hours to be seen. I was also given zero ice until I asked. Blood was pouring from my eye and head. I have never had such a negative experience in a hospital. Will never return. The most unsupportive unhelpful staff. Doctor also forgot to prescribe my antibiotics. My boyfriend had to call the hospital and get someone else to write a prescription for it. Everyone was extremely incompetent. This is the first review I have ever written, but feel it is important for others to understand the type of treatment they may receive. Would give zero stars if possible.
Why is it so hot in here all the time? Two different thermostats in the Fred Hutch Cancer Center area are reading in the high 70s and it's unbearable. It's only 63° outside. Why is this necessary?!?
No hospital is perfect but, I myself have been to Evergreen a few times and I personally think the staff is pretty good plus the Doctors and nurses. Making appointments are easy and they communicate very well. I did have an issues at UC, the wait time was crazy and the Doctor? was a jerk. Happens at times but, that was just one time. The clinic in Redmond, Town Center is run pretty well also. I'm not going anywhere else because I don't think anymore else is any better. My take..
Billing for services in the emergency room for a partners visit was poorly handled, options mis-communicated and the initial invoice after insurance payment was late arriving to us. When my mother with dementia needed overnight observation after a seizure, Evergreeen didn’t have enough staffing, so I stayed awake with her all night making sure she didn’t pull her leads or IVs out in confusion. Coupled with their new announcement that they couldn’t resolve a deal with Aetna, it just makes Evergreen a last choice for care on the East side. Disappointing to see what the current administration is doing with a hospital that used to be absolutely top tier.
Today my wife had a Diverticulitis attack .We took her to the Emergency room and were treated with kindness ,care and compassion. It was a scary situation but the Doctor was top notch . He also had a great bedside manor and wasted no time . He is the same Doctor who stitched up my wife's had several years back and our VIP doctor said he had never seen that good of a stitch. My wife also was seen by Dr Hanson when she had a 104 temp a few years ago and he also knew exactly what to do. I want to say especially thank you for the Doctor and the intake people and especially the RNs . I could go on and on . Eervergreen has been taking care of our family for many years and life happens but we are so thankful today . Top notch medical care .The focus here is on the patient. Cant thank you enough.
I don't think I've actually written such a negative review, but here goes..because this was really awful. Some clarification points: 1. I work in healthcare. 2. I have NEVER missed a medical appointment I made. The resources are spread too thin now, especially post covid. 3. I DOUBLE CHECKED the online instructions/directions the night before the appointment. I arrived at the facility before my appointment time. I was given incorrect directions when I arrived at the hospital, which is color coded into zones. I was sent to the wrong zone for my desired appointment, which I had waited for for a month, and was not able to recover and course correct with the correct directions until too late for my appointment to be honored. I was then informed that I could not reschedule my appointment, even after volunteering that I would pay a late arrival fee. Mind you, this was going to be a cash pay appointment for a travel medicine consult. I wonder if they really want to have people use this service if there are non existent instructions on the appointment for INTERNAL NAVIGATION WITHIN THE HOSPITAL, and INCORRECT INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN at hospital information portals. I have been to Evergreen before to take friends to appointments, and thought their system very confusing. Experiencing the facility operations and logistics first hand, I don't think I would voluntarily make an appointment in their facility again. I work and navigate in hospitals...it can be confusing, but this was crazy.
Please avoid going to any Evergreen Health if you are planning to apply for their financial assistance program or if you think you might have to deal with their billing problem. Their whole billing system sucks. They do not coordinate with patients and their needs. They want the patients to go through with more stress and health issues dealing with them. Long call volumes and extremely unhelpful staff. I have called at least 50 times in 6 months to take care of this one application but the agents have no answers because they aren't the decision-makers and always leave it open-ended discussion. Avoid the trouble and go to Overlake Hospital instead...Overlake is way far better in its promptness and services. Some of the online schedulers were also very rude at Evergreen in the Bothell location in the past
My dad recently had the privilege of receiving medical care at Evergreen Kirkland and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly put me at ease. The staff at Evergreen deserves the highest praise for their exceptional professionalism and unwavering commitment to patient care. Every doctor, nurse, and support staff member I encountered demonstrated not only their extensive knowledge and expertise but also genuine compassion and empathy towards patients. Their ability to balance technical proficiency with a caring and human touch truly sets Evergreen apart.
