Okay so let me first say that I had a successful v-bac in 2022 at the Advent Women Hospital. The bedside manner surpass my dreams. The nurses and midwife were just amazing and so attentive. 30 days after my son was born he became I’ll and I knew I wanted him to be at this specific hospital. Again! They surpassed my initial thoughts on having to stay in the hospital with a new born baby. I’m so happy I brought him to the Advent children’s hospital to heal. Exactly one year later my son became sick and I KNEW immediately where I need to take him to receive the best care. The Advent children’s hospital! Crazy enough he ended up having the same nurse Riah as the last time! She is truly phenomenal. Every person we encountered was amazing and took amazing care of me and my son. I’m forever grateful.
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my recent experience during the hospitalization of my daughter, and provide a suggestion that I believe could enhance the overall experience for both patients and their families. My daughter, was recently admitted to your hospital for treatment, and I must commend the medical staff for their excellent care and attention. The doctors and nurses were not only professional but also compassionate, which made a difficult time for our family more bearable. During our stay, one challenge we faced was managing our hunger and finding suitable dining options within the hospital premises. We often had to leave the hospital to search for food, which was both inconvenient and time-consuming, especially when we wanted to stay close to our daughters side. With this in mind, I would like to suggest the implementation of an internal food court or a dedicated dining area within the hospital. Having access to a variety of nutritious meals and snacks on-site would greatly benefit families like ours who spend extended periods at the hospital. It would not only alleviate the stress of having to leave the premises but also contribute to the overall comfort and well-being of both patients and their caregivers. I understand that the implementation of such a facility may come with logistical challenges, but I believe it would be a valuable addition to the services offered by the hospital Thank you for considering my suggestion. I appreciate the excellent care provided by your hospital staff and believe that this enhancement could further elevate the overall experience for patients and their families. Warm regards,
Can only say great things about everyone that came in contact with my Daughter Sofia from intake to triage and especially the ER crew on 3/23 and then again on the 3/25. Patty was wonderful on Thursday with another male nurse. On Saturday again another awesome experience with all staff. All personnel we came in touch with showed another level of care that touched us very much. Our daughter was not just another patient they showed compassion and went way beyond to comfort her in making her feel comfortable it seems we had the whole team in the room when they were drawing blood and setting up her I V. Allie and Natalie thank you so much for everything. Dr Treloar thank you for making sure my baby girl had all test done. Laura Nan and Caroline all of you complete an awesome team. Thank you and god bless
Man this place is the best hospital I took my child. They treated her with SUCH good gentle care. Although my child has many nurses come and go to help us, My most recent nurses were Dana, Angel & Alexandra and man, words cannot explain how gentle, caring, polite, and sweet they were. Literally so helpful and down to earth people. These are definitely people-oriented employees and advent health did such a great job hiring them. My daughter had to get transferred through an ambulance and even the ambulance were beyond gentle and accommodating to her. It really made my heart happy. These people work so hard day IN and OUT to help people and words cannot explain how appreciative I am to these heroes to have made this experience smooth for me and my partner. These people who work here come with such strong motive and love to help other people. They are amazing. Dana, Angel & Alexandra made it such an unforgettable time here with the help and patience they offered. I felt supported and helped for my daughter. Thank you guys so much.
While still fresh on my mind. Took my son to this location and everyone we encountered on the overnight shift was a pleasure to communicate with. Fortunately we were the only patients there upon arrival so check in, initial consult, room assignment, and doc/tech interaction was quick, smooth and sweet. They checked on us often. The longest part of the evening was waiting for lab results for my LO and we slept in the interim. Thanks and much kudos for the care, concern and professionalism the staff showed my son and I this morning.
This facility is very well equipped for children. Between medical needs and basic needs to make the visit go as smooth as possible, they’ve got you covered. Our entire medical team was patient and kind with our child and our emotions as we went through a difficult time.
Thank you so much they took great care of my daughter she broke the bottom end of her tibia and her growth plate. We had to stay in the hospital for two and a half days all the doctors nurse Sergeant were fabulous. Everyone did a great job make sure my daughter was comfortable it was a blessing to be there thank you
Our 18-month old had to be admitted to the children’s ER due to splitting her lip on our pool deck. She needed multiple stitches. Her lip looked beyond awful. It was a Sunday, late afternoon, when we arrived in the ER. She needed multiple stitches, but were told there are no plastic surgeons on staff on the weekend. I was in complete disbelief! How can there NOT be a plastic surgeon at least on call, for a children’s ER?? That is utterly ridiculous. I was told to come back to following morning. So, instead of leaving your hospital with a peace of mind, I had even more concerns and worry over my daughters current state and how she would heal and not develop a bad infection after delaying what desperately needed to be done right then and there. There NEEDS to always be a plastic surgeon on call at all times, especially on weekends. That MUST change for when a child is in need of stitches! Then the communication among the staff the following day, I mean among the nurses and doctors in the children’s ER specifically, was just terrible. No one assigned to my daughter seemed to speak with one another. The ER doctor had to come in and ask us if an IV had been started, when clearly it hadn’t. He clearly had not checked with her nurses outside our door. But then the nurses said to me they were simply waiting for the ORDER to be placed so they could start the IV. Meanwhile, when I stuck my head out of our room I saw our nurses, doctors, and even the plastic surgeon all standing at the nurses table not speaking to one another to communicate next steps. Case in point, poor communication. Lack of efficiency was immediately noted. Everything was SLOW. The nurses seemed to take their time. One nurse must have been in training because she had to stick my 18-month old daughter 3 TIMES just to properly insert the IV. I was about to go mad! They also didn’t check back in with us after the procedure and didn’t update me at all as to why I was still there with daughter, ready to go home, hours after her quick procedure was done and my daughter was clearly awake and fine. We had been at your hospital by 8am that morning and I didn’t get home until 3pm. I figure I would have been home by noon at the latest! I felt everything was done VERY inefficiently. I felt the communication was very poor as well. We have a follow up with the plastic surgeon to look over her stitches a week after the procedure but I was told that if I don’t get there by 8am, there may not even be a doctor there to greet me! I was told that they don’t schedule appointments like a regular doctor’s office, everyone just shows up in the early morning and if there are no patients to see…then the plastic surgeon leaves. What??? I’ve never heard of this rule in my entire life at a hospital! I had to explain that I have to drop my other children off at school first and then will head over as quickly as possible. I was told that if I am arriving any time after 9am, then I better call to check that a doctor will be there!! That is utterly ridiculous. This needs to change! No flexibility whatsoever apparently for the patients. I will be very happy to finish my last post-appointment for my daughter next week and then I will never be returning to your hospital again in the future. I will drive to Arnold Palmer in the future due to these multitude of issues I have just listed. The staff was pleasant, but everything else was very poorly handled. I was no impressed with the lack of efficiency and communication.
As a mommy, going to the hospital for your 24 day old baby can be frightening, however at Advent all I felt was peace. The nurses were incredibly caring, attentive, and treated me as an extension of family. I have never experienced a more loving and professional staff of doctors, therapists, specialists, and technicians than at Advent. I could trust that my daughter’s health and wellbeing were in good hands. The staff checked every possible thing that could be affecting my daughter in order to make informed decisions. I was included in daily rounding sessions and the information I brought was taken seriously. My daughter is recovered and doing well, and I cannot thank the staff at Advent enough. God definitely brought us to the best place possible for her care. I would highly recommend Advent to all of my family and friends. Thank you especially to everyone in Cardiac Pediatric ICU…Amanda, PJ, Angie, Paul Nino, Angelique, Dominique, Charlie Ann, Margarita, Marie, our Respiratory Specialist Amy, our Speech and Language Therapists Karen, Allie, and Jen, our transport team Jen, Andrea, and Wilson as well as Nurse Shelly and Dr. Noor on the pediatric floor, and anyone else who cared for us during our stay. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Even though advent health may have the best NICU I feel that the nurses aren’t and am sorry. For a first time boy mom, my son was not taking care of I would say very well. When I was able to go down and see my son cause I had spinal fluid and surgery my son had dry poop on him. Also am not sure if the nurse felt I could not talk but when my husband went down to see our son and he had faced Timed me my son he an IVY in his head. The nurse I feel should communicate when they are going to do things like that because it would have been nice for me to say yes go ahead instead of seeing it and breaking me apart.
