Portal Park is Columbus's smallest city park. Located at High Street and Arcadia Road, the park serves as a "portal" to Clintonville and the University District.
Friends of Portal Park are neighbors and business owners who help plant, maintain, clean up, and otherwise care for the park, in partnership with Columbus Recreation and Parks. FoPP also sponsors education and engagement programs.
The Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center (CRC) is fiscal sponsor for our organization because the relationship furthers the CRC’s mission to “respond to the needs of our diverse community to foster safer, healthier, and empowered lives.” For more information please visit CRC’s website at http://www.ClintonvilleCRC.org.
Portal Park exists to bring beauty and a welcoming sense of community to a busy intersection; to engage volunteers to maintain the park, in partnership with the City; to connect neighbors and businesses around the park; to engages the neighborhoods of south Clintonville, the University District and Glen Echo; and, working with representatives from these neighborhoods, to develop 1–2 park events per year that focus on education and engagement.
