I could say all the usual nice things - very clean facility, courteous staff, groomed sites, lovely pool, beach etc. The test of good guest service is when things don't go right. I had a major electrical issue with my RV - totally our problem. Maintenance came out to check the service, even though it was fine, they sent an electrical contractor out to make sure. Maintenance stopped by on their "rounds" to see how we were doing. The office provided a wonderful local repair company who could dispatch a tech within 2 hours of calling. When I asked about cabin availability in case we needed to await parts, the office was ready to dispatch housekeeping immediately to turn a unit for me. As luck would have it, the repair tech was able to get slides and awning in so we could get home. The value of my friends is not when life goes well, it is when life does not go well. Thank you so much to Wayne, Elissa and everyone at Grey's Point. The first two days were perfect! You may a horrible day three, better. We will be back!
The Retirement home of campgrounds. We arrived on a weekend and the place was bustling. We did online check-in so we could go straight to our site, but there was nobody at the gate so we were still required to park and physically go check in. The young females working the camp store and check in very not professional and did not make any attempt to be accommodating. We attempted to rent a golf cart for our stay but we’re told none were available. They couldn’t tell us when any would be returned, or available-no wait list and they don’t declined to take our info to call us. They kept saying “come back in half an hour”. We went to rent bicycles and the bikes were rusted out and many had flat tires that we were told could not be inflated. When we did find one that was in decent condition there was no real check out procedure for renting and no return time. We attempted to try boat rentals but we couldn’t find any location to actually rent boats and the “pond” to boat in was only about the size of three camp sites. We had some friends that met us there, and were sitting around the table at one of our sites one evening and park patrol quickly came and reprimanded us. Our 15 year olds weren’t permitted to ride bicycles without headlights after dark and weren’t allowed out of campsite without parental guidance in the evenings.Once the weekend was over, it was like a ghost town. The pool and the camp store shut down at 6pm. There was no way to check our rented bike bike in, so we put it on the rack and hoped for the best. We rented Spade Fish 03. The sites were pretty small in comparison to other places we have stayed. The park was very clean and maintained. We will not be recommending this camp to anyone and we certainly will not be returning.
Visit some friends that had one of the modified and Enlarge RVs on the Rappahannock River. Beautiful view fun entertainment. It was a car show, craft show and an 80s band that was incredible but the permanent RVs were too close together and the yearly cost is over $6,000 a year. That doesn't include the space to have your RV which could be from 5 to $10,000. If you buy the RV with the space it can run up to $80,000 so this place is not cheap. One of the saddest things about this place it's not year round so there are other campgrounds owned by the same company are all year round. It doesn't make much sense we like to visit but we're not going to purchase our own site because it's not year round.
Hard to believe this place was highly recommended. Left 3 messages over the past 3 weeks. Never a returned call. Finally got in touch with someone at the office who couldn’t give me any information huge help so I was given another number to the “sales rep” for Greys point. No surprise….no one answered or returned my call.Service: 1/5
Camped in a 38' Class A Motorhome: General Comments: This was our first time at Grey's Point. The drive in was not bad. Had some trouble at check in as no one was at the front gate to let us in. Push the buzzer, but ended up having to go into the front office. It was early in the season, so there were mostly long term campers there, which made for a quiet stay. It probably gets busier in the summer like Bethpage, but for us we did not see more golf carts than we normally see. Booking: Online or phone both easy. Drive in: The drive on Route 17 and Route 3 were not a problem. Route 3 through Topping was tight, but manageable. Interior roads: Paved and relatively easy to navigate. Space size: Roomy enough. We were in RockFish 1 Facilities: Good sized dog park, swimming pool closed for the season, but looked okay, bathrooms were acceptable, small camp store, and a couple of playgrounds. No fire pit at our site. Cleanliness: Overall clean campground. Well maintained. A lot of long term campers, but a good mix of both. Staff: Very Friendly. Activities: We stayed during Easter weekend. Grey's point had a bunch of activities planned throughout the weekend. Candy bar bingo, egg decoration, Easter Bunny Visit, Child/Adult Easter Egg hunts, and a band in the evening. Food: The campground had two food trucks there for most of the day and Sunday morning.
Nice place ppl friendly awesome views golf cart rentals on site. Boat ramp on site. Plenty of RV rentals sites definitely recommendRooms: 5/5
I would like to tell you how awesome Jessica Stiles, I believe I spelled her last name right. She answered all of my questions and had patience with me. She was very professional and made me fell like there were no dumb questions. I will definitely be planning a trip to greys point. I'm hoping all the staff is as wonderful as Jessica. Looking forward to my trip. Thank you Jessica in seasonal. Cynthia Wright
Nice camp grounds. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Not to impressed with having the cabins and the RVs on top of each other. Not a lot of privacy. You are surrounded by cabins and RVs. Beach area small and it is noisy...A great playground for kids of all ages. Just wasn't my cup of tea
We rented a cabin for 4 nights. They were extremely clean and decently spaced apart for a campground. The staff was friendly and checked on us to see if we needed extra supplies. Sunsets were amazing from the docs. There are a ton of golf carts zipping around and the place is busy on the weekends but most were good about respecting the 11pm quiet hours. There was a nice band on Saturday night and 3 food trucks all weekend. Weekdays the place was really empty. Nice family place overall .
Excellent campground. Staff always helpful and activities for the kidsService: 5/5
