Booked this room last min in order to get a few hours of sleep before our early flight. Got out of the elevator to absolutely disgusting hallways with stains all over the carpet, marks on the walls, & a strong perfume smell. Room smelled like dirty feet. Found a dirty sock underneath the ottoman. Definitely hadn’t been vacuumed. Beds were comfy but definitely makes me question their cleanliness. Bathroom had drywall chips & dust on the floor. Microwave looked like it had seen better days. Only perk was the friendly desk agent & the 24hr airport shuttle.
The service here is horrible. While waiting to check in, a woman had to request a new room TWICE because they assigned her two separate dirty rooms. The older woman at the front desk was rude when I asked questions, then tried to say I didn’t already pay for my stay. When I showed her proof she was still giving me a hard time. When I became upset she threatened to not let us stay at all. She said nothing for a few minutes. Then she just hands me our room keys without saying anything. I had to ask her “So, did you figure out I paid already?” and then she just said “Yes.” No apology or anything after arguing with me. Besides the horrible front desk woman, the room was clean at a glance but definitely not thoroughly cleaned. Not enough towels or toilet paper in the room we had to call for more. Our toilet got clogged and they offered no solution, and even said they only had one plunger in the place but didn’t know where it was. I could honestly go on and on about more things wrong, but I just will end it here and say I do not recommend this place at all.
Worst Hampton I’ve ever stayed in- speaking as an Honors Member & have stayed in various locations around the country for a decade. POSITIVES: beds were comfortable, location to airport was convenient, Ruby Tuesdays I think was next door. Upon check in we were given a key to a room already occupied by a family. We were both VERY surprised and startled. The room we finally got in was gross. Somehow simultaneously very slippery all floors and sticky everything else. The bedding seemed clean, but the “dust ruffle” things has stains resembling blood. Room definitely in need of an update- bathroom faucet was very loose. Absolutely no hot water during shower. The front desk staff was pleasant enough but seemed indifferent: on their cell, curt answers, no smiles, etc. I asked for a plate for food ordered from an outside restaurant and was told to come to the front desk to get it then was given a paper plate. In other locations a real plate would have been brought up to the room. There is a daily charge for parking. There are several hotels in the same area that would be better to stay in.
My room was 75 degrees upon entry, I turned down the thermostat on the wall only to find the window ac unit set to 78 after a half an hour of waiting for the room to cool, of which I promptly turned down. Area around the base of the toilet wasn't clean, wiped it quickly with a wet tissue and it was grey/brown. The walls inside the bathroom are a bit dirty. Stayed here for a work trip so I really didn't have any option. Rooms: Not the most clean. Wall thermostat doesn't actually impact the temperature, while the buttons on the window ac unit do and are not linked to the wall thermostat whatsoever. Bathroom had a hair in the sink and the walls just werent very clean.
Stayed here last weeks and this is by far the worst experience I have had with a hotel. I will start off my saying the front desk was very nice and helpful but after that the hotel is terrible. Stained carpets, musty smells and my room was no where near what you expect from Hampton Inn. Rusted out tub, stained carpets, and blood or some reddish fluid on the lamp shade. If it wasn’t late in the day and leaving early the next morning I would have left and found another place. Took my chances and hoped the bed was at least clean. Very shocked at the room/hotel conditions.
This hotel is in a convenient location and the personnel were more excellent. That said, the property is in need of a refurbishment ASAP. Carpet is badly stained, appeared dirty, and ripped in some cases. The elevator was not clean, and there is significant vandalism on some of the walls- scratching, etching, etc.Rooms: 4/5
This Hampton location is very busy and getting very tired. Our room had zero shampoo and about 1/4 roll of TP for a 4-day stay. The room's hair dryer did not work on high setting. The bathtub is hazardously slick, with no mat or safety coating. The digital key didn't work except for once, and the staff had no interest in helping make it better. Our card keys continually stopped functioning, requiring trips to see the grumpy desk staff. There was one nice person at the desk. I think she may have been a manager. Also, the man who tended the breakfast bar, was quite helpful. We watched a Diamond level Hilton traveler's reservation disappear, and the desk staff just shrugged. We really like Hampton Inn, we stay here regularly, and we were disappointed by this place. Nearby activities: There is a shuttle bus to the Philadelphia airport. It seems to be very regular in it's operation. Safety: The neighborhood is a bit sketchy. Walkability: You can walk next door to Ruby Tuesday's. Otherwise, this is not a walkable location for anything.
Was a little hesitant about this place from some of the previous reviews…but I found a decent room for a good price just minutes from PHL. Shuttle to and from the airport…runs on a set schedule so be sure to check with the desk. Check in smooth and quick, front desk helpful, check out was a piece of cake. Room could use a little closer attention: bathroom floor could’ve seen a broom, stain on the carpet… but staff and location made it easy to overlook that. One thing though: your shuttle needs mechanical attention.
The hotel tried to put me in a room that had not been serviced since the prior occupant checked out. The room was used, the bed was not made, the TV was on when I entered the room, the bathroom was dirty. Then the desk clerk told me they didn't have any other rooms to put me in. Unbelievable, I had a reservation, but the hotel didn't have any rooms. I ended up driving 45 minutes to another hotel.
Always a pleasant experience staying at Hampton Inn. This hotel is very convenient to the airport, which is why I picked it. We had a late flight coming in and an early flight out, and I wanted to be close to the airport. The shuttle driver, front desk staff, breakfast manager - everyone was nice and helpful. I also like that they have a charging station for electric vehicles on the property. The rooms are a little dated. Our door was hard to shut, but other than that, no issues.
