if i could put zero stars, i would. i was in the adolescent unit and it was absolutely traumatizing. it did not make me feel better, if anything worse. this was not my first experience in an inpatient hospital but it was by far the worst. DO NOT GO HERE!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!! i could go into so much detail about how awful this place is but i would be typing for a very long time.
If there was an option to put zero stars I would. This is the most unorganized medical operation I’ve had to encounter. They can’t even pass information along so that the staff are all on the same page. Not even counting what I’ve heard their treatment of the patients is like. How can one work in a mental health facility while also having mental health issues when it comes to taking care of the people who need the help the most. The countless stories I’ve have to hear about how they’re treating people makes me fear for the safety of those they’re looking after. It honestly baffles me. 0/5. This place needs to be evaluated onNot how not only are patients getting treatment but how they’re also being treated. Not to mention how rude and unhelpful the staff are to the ones checking in on their loved ones too. Also the fact that the hospital is going through these reviews to contact people who have left truthful testimonies should be another red flag.
the psychiatrist there don’t seem terribly interested in finding a real diagnosis for anyone and just slaps a bipolar 1/2 on everyone that comes in. i spent 10 days in a unit and was absolutely traumatized the entire time. not once did i feel safe in this facility. most of the staff either don’t care or are unwilling to help, with the exception of a handful of techs. seems they’re more interested in how much money they can get from your insurance than actually taking care of patients.
This hospital is somewhere to go for mental health treatment and they do their job well. Don't let these reviews scare you, the staff is supportive and amazing. They have helped me so much, and everyone that I know that has done their program and followed it has been able to say the same thing. I did the stuff I did to manage my depression and it worked . I'm less stressed about anything and I'm happy to be helped then Coldwater Regional Hospital. I couldn't ask for a better position I was in I felt safe there. The needs and stuff I went through physically and mentally changed my life around. I recommend that patients come to this hospital cause it's the safest place to be at they take good care of you.
I was at Havenwyck a couple weeks ago for their adult partial program and I have to say, this place was the best mental health facility I’ve been to when I am having a crisis. The employees are nice & attentive to your individual needs, the food is good, the programs they offer are fulfilling and the people you meet help you with whatever you’re struggling with. I especially would like to thank Kendall & Dr. Singhal for their attentiveness, and compassion for the people they serve and treat. I know the reviews are scary but not all people have a good experience in a mental hospital, especially if they don’t want to be helped. If you are struggling mentally, go here. You will not regret it. If I ever find myself struggling, I will definitely be coming back. Much love, Claire
Dr. Kodali refused to hear concerns & needs of patients, but instead demanded things be done his way, immediately. My reasonable request to delay adding another drug for a couple weeks, agreeable to others in the mental health field, was met with a threat to discharge me from the outpatient program I knew I needed. When he was told by Recipient Rights of my complaint, he responded with more threats to discharge me, claiming that b/c I had to leave 1.5 hrs early for a dentist appt which I gave the nurse advance notice of was noncompliance. I was not the only one to request to be removed from Dr Kodali's care. They are understaffed... it was difficult to keep the food provisions stocked. I restocked some basic needs myself after days of not being able to eat their meals b/c basic condiments were still not replenished. And other items would run out & someone needed to just go to the supply closet. This was not for lack of trying, the staff attending these needs was very busy all the time. The foods provided were frequently cold & we had to go use staff microwave. We also needed a fridge to keep some items cold when we brought them wth us not provided... the beverage choice was extremely limited so I brought some from home, some brought cold sandwiches or snacks that needed to keep cold for hours. They need a kitchenette in our "breakroom"!!!
I was in the adolescent unit, August 2022 when I was 16,I admitted myself. I had an overall very welcoming and safe experience and it made getting psychiatric care much less overwhelming for me. It was difficult and very emotional to adjust being in this new place so rapidly because of the fast check in because it was light medical review and base questions. However, Katherine, Allison, Sarah and Mr.devontehope I spelled it right They were the absolute angels that immediately tended to whoever they believed were in distress. They truly cared and tried their best to make you comfortable in your rooms, day rooms and therapy-they would even be encouraging and uplifting if you were scared or anxious for any process. Sarah was my favorite, she'd get someone to watch the others so she could go with you if it made it easier for you to adjust and even though I was there for only 6 days below the 7-10 day average it still truly helped. My physiatrist helped me understand myself more and why I text in certain ways. The food was great and with me being a picky eater that says alot. I felt truly understood and with the system of the facility, it makes a calm environment where you can truly discover yourself, while understanding your conditions. If I had to go back, I would certainly choose this place.
My daughter went there less than 3 weeks ago. This being our first experience with a place like this I SERIOUSLY hope there is better out there! I made the mistake of reading the reviews first. But kept an open mind, she was there for about 12 days. Which the first question they asked is do I give permission to medication. They weren’t ready to discharge until insurance no longer covered her stay. Less than 24 hours before discharge she had an incident and was on restriction. They continue discharge because ins would no longer pay for her stay and it would be out of pocket. BUT NEVER TOLD THE PARENTS, just my daughter. At discharge there was a lot of questions and concerns with out patient care. The social worker there Dawn, told me over the phn morning of before I got there that my daughter is discharged and is no longer on her case load. Before I even got there without any assurance of after care. I called Samantha the person who does complaints, left 2 messages. Now about a week out of discharge and we back in the hospital. DO NOT SEND CHILDREN HERE!!!! REVIEWS WERE 100%
Went here my sophomore year of high school and I was severely more depressed. I’m now 20 years old and have gotten the help I needed, if you’re thinking about going here or sending your kids here I’d do some more looking into this place. They may have changed some since I was there but when I was it was horrible. I was 100lbs going in and 75lbs coming out. We weren’t allowed to cry or we’d lose “points” we are stuck in one room most of the day, watching the same movies all day. The showers barley had time to get warm because you were only allowed 5 min. Kids going to places like this need help not more stress and trauma. I get them wanting to keep the kids safe but there are better places out there to send your kids or even yourself to get the help you need.
don’t go here it traumatized me, they don’t have good calculations with there medication and tend to give patients more than they need, making us into zombies with no outside emotion so they feel they did there job, most people working here are stuck up and think they are better than you because your in there, it’s literally prison, no place to go if you have problems with depression and anxiety, if more serious mental struggles then I could recommend this but otherwise your gonna spend money and come back with more trama then when you came in. My parents admitted me because they couldn’t handle my problems so they thought this would be easier to make me better faster but it just made my life go to hell. I still wake up from cold sweats thinking I’m still there.
