It saddens me to make this because Dr. O has always been great. Very kind and professional. Unfortunately, the past couple of weeks every time my husband or I try to make an appointment for our 3 year old, they tell us to call back the next day. It’s happened 3 times now. We are literally unable to make an appointment for our 3 year old sick son. So if you’re looking for a new pediatrician, I would look somewhere else for a dependable timely doctor.
My kids seen Dr. O over a year ago and I was very pleased with him and he actually cared about my kids but I had to switch pediatricians because they do not have a nurses line and my daughter has special needs so we were in need of one just in case. My kids are now Little older and I decided that I was so pleased with Dr.O I wanted to go back to his office… Well I called his office last week sometime in the AM and I told the lady that I would like to make an appointment for my son.. Her response was “Can you call back tomorrow morning?” Yeah umm… No! My kids will not be patients there because that was very unprofessional and that shows how caring they are… What if my son was sick and needed to be seen? Unfortunately we have to miss out on a good doctor because of that.
I can not believe some of these comments I've been taking both my children to Dr.O for almost 8 years now and he is wonderful! Always listens to my concerns and questions and as my daughter got older 15now he listens to her concerns and questions and has never been rude or judgmental or dismissed my concerns. The staff is also great always caring and gentle with my babies! Makes doctor visits so much less stressful for myself and my kids would highly recommend his office!!!!
Had a very traumatic experience. She was my only child after trying for years-We brought our three 3 day daughter there. Dr. Ambimbola came in, asked normal, procedural questions, and took her diaper off. When he was done, he put the diaper back on and didn’t fold the diaper back away from the umbilical cord, or put it over her umbilical cord as we did. The baby moved, and the diaper knocked the umbilical chord off, in less than a second, she was in a pool of blood. I’ve never seen blood gushing profusely from a little three day old baby. He had to put silver nitrate to contain the blood. She was still bleeding even though he put the nitrate on. We quickly rushed her to the ER. At the ER they were able to get her heart beat to stable and contain everything. Long story short, I will not recommend it. In the process of getting legal advice on what to do right now regarding the situation.
I went back and forth with myself to leave this review or not. I have only done this once and it was positive, but I feel I need to share my experience so other parents can make a determination. I was pretty let down with Dr. Oguntoye. Both my husband and I are first time parents. The first visit, when our daughter was a week old, we arrived and were told only one parent was allowed back because of covid. This was disheartening for a few reasons—we were not told this beforehand which would have been helpful, it was also confusing considering that if they are concerned about covid enough which they absolutely SHOULD be to not let both parents back, then they should be requiring parents at the bare minimum to wear masks inside, which they did not. I found this unsettling. They had toys out and a water fountain, which I imagine would be dangerous for the spread of covid? I also found the staff/office to look a little disheveled which seemed odd at a medical practice. My husband went back with her this time as I was tired and sore so I did not want to miss any advice given. The second visit for her one month check up is was really bothered me, before this I truly wanted to give him a second chance. The room itself did not seem like it was in a well kept medical facility, there were stickers peeling off the walls and the equipment seemed dated, the bathrooms as well seemed to not be kept up with, the metal containers for the towels to dry your hands were rusted and it smelled odd I even asked how long they had been there trying to give them the benefit of the doubt if it was a new move, but they had been there for seven years? When the doctor came in it was his first time seeing me. He did not introduce himself or even ask my name. He was not rude necessarily, but just distant. He was very in and out and did not seem all that that thorough. He didn’t even ask if I had any questions. He also did not recommend a vitamin D supplement, which he should have as my daughter is exclusively breastfed. I had to ask myself please remember I am a first time mom, I should be able to count on her physician to help navigate these things with me, what if I hadn’t looked it up myself?. And the vitamin supplement he proscribed to us was awful tasting/smelling and stained horribly, I again had to do my own searching and found that there are much better supplements out there, it was like he just didn’t care, not even enough to tell me I can get it over the counter at any pharmacy. I was not screened for postpartum depression. This is a huge red flag. It even said that it should be done on the poster he had in the room about what to expect at each visit. I luckily have not struggled with this, but for mothers who do, I imagine it can be very difficult to bring up yourself, which is why they should be screening mothers for this! To not do that is extremely negligent and to me shows they don’t really care about the mothers welfare which would affect babies’ health. I transferred care after that visit, and our new pediatrician is friendly, asked about us and our needs, made sure we were adding a vitamin supplement for her, and her office was clean and inviting. I feel I can actually build a relationship with my daughters provider now. I know this comment was long winded but I wanted to be thorough and to explain my negative review. I feel even two stars is generous, and it’s only because Dr. Oguntoye and his staff were not outright rude, just indifferent. I do hope they see this and try to make some changes. At the VERY least asking parents if they have questions, and screening for postpartum depression.
I absolutely love Dr O and his staff! All 4 of my kids see him. When he left IHC I went with him. I cannot believe some of these comments his staff is super nice, as is he. His front desk lady shares a birthday with one of my sons and she makes sure not to schedule his shots on their birthday bcuz she doesn't want him to cry.
Took my 11 year old son here for the first time. I thought the staff people were great and the Dr O. was listening to me and my concerns. I understood him fine, I guess he has a slight Nigerian accent. The Dr & nurse were great with my son. I would love for my 16 year old daughter and 17 year old son to also go to the pediatric office they take patients up to 22 years old here, but the waiting room decorations are super babyish. I wish that they would have a grown-up waiting room along with the babyish side waiting room, or something more neutral for all ages, that's my only ding. My teenages won't go there because of the baby feel atmosphere. Great Dr, nurse's & staff!!! If you have a youngster, I highly recommend this office. PS - they got me in as a new patient quickly and little to none waiting to see the Dr.
I can't say one bad thing about Dr O. My daughter was born with a cleft lip/palate and a genetic disorder and very picky about her drs. I absolutely love Dr O. He is wonderful with my children and always there when I need something!! His staff are fantastic and always have a smile on their faces and lollipops and stickers for the kids. They have gone above and beyond to help me with the pharmacy and a prescription issues. A+++

WeveWe've never had an issue with the dictor or nurses being rude...Ever! We highly recommend Dr. O and in our eyes hes the best pediatrician in Kokomo!
