Everything about this location is horrible. When you pull up there is trash all around the building and they use the parking spaces in front of the building to vacuum cars via a long extensions cord running out the front door hazard. Once i got in i was informed that my car wasn’t ready and that it would be 45 mins. This is a major inconvenience. There was also 4 other ppl waiting as well. The atmosphere is very unprofessional. It’s beyond ridiculous and this location should be closed if they can’t provide adequate customer service. I will be calling corporate Monday morning. Update: after me and 4 other ppl waited over an hour and were told we would get vehicles in the order in which we came in another lady walked in and they immediately gave her a vehicle that was promised to one of the other ppl waiting and had been sitting in the parking lot the whole time. Smh i have been waiting for 2 hours now and still no vehicle. This is by far the worst experience i have ever had with any rental company and definitely not expected from a major company like Hertz - do better

Update June 2023 I'm to the point noe where i day dont use them!!! The 2.8 review should be less! You've been warned and Brett/Brent is a liar The cars are dirty, no gas and customer service all around garbage. First off Jabree is alright with me and Tony is dry customerservice at its finest worst. I think this Hertz lack help for detailing. I know they can't expect them to do it all and something doesn't come up short. First time in Explorer 2021 and I loved it. It wasn't clean properly at all with COVID, monkeypox and lordt knows what else. I wiped down the inside see photos. This 3 is for their personalities and excellent customer service and a gas saver vehicle. I got my daughter off to college safely and everything fit! The store front needs cleaning as well.

I wish I had read the reviews before making a reservation at this particular Hertz on 632 Valleybrook Rd Decatur, Ga. We needed a car for the weekend and I reserved a full size car earlier in the week, However when my husband got there on Friday morning to pickup the car, He was told there was no cars available & they were still waiting on returns. The only thing available was a minivan. We were there almost 1hr waiting. The customer service was subpar and the reps were very nonchalant. It would have been nice for someone to call us in advance they were still waiting for returns. I tried calling the surrounding companies for a rental but they were all booked for the weekend. Based off the other reviews I don't know why this location is still open.

If zero stars was an option, it would be zero. This is in reference for a previous car rental 05/13/2021. The previous car rental was for my attendance at a funeral in Montgomery, AL. Initial contact at the pickup store 632 Valley Brook Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. I wanted to support my neighborhood Hertz rental and unfortunately, I was let down. My pickup time was an hour after the scheduled time and the car I was given was inappropriately filthy. After asking for another car, I was informed that there was only 2 in the full-size class I originally requested. The car I was given was a 2020 Malibu, License plate # TN 1W68P1. Since I was already an hour behind my travel schedule, I performed a deep clean myself with Lysol and Clorox wipes and began travel to my destination. My self clean was decent enough to get me to my destination but could not fix the strong marijuana odor, fluid stains in both the front and back seats, fresh pair of eyelashes in the passenger door handle, empty liquor bottle in the trunk as well as a pair of underwear. I added the collision damage plan as well as the Hertz refuel charge for gas. As reflected on the rental record, it states that the car was given on full but it had 92 miles to empty as well as no oil in the engine. I placed $33.97 of unleaded gas before I headed on i-85 to my destination. While going through the features on the car, I was also disappointed to find that the car had no oil in the engine either. Upon arrival to the city line of Montgomery, AL, I began to fill as jerking sensation of the car and as I pulled over on the side of the interstate to make sure it was not a flat tire, I found the bottom of the car scrapping along the pavement now allowing my speed to go from 75mph to 50mph on the interstate to avoid the jerking motion. The next day when en route to return the car rental while driving 45mph, the bumper foam flew off and the right side bumper began dragging on the floor thus reducing my speed to 30mph and now forced to take the street route. This experience was stressful and saddened me as though Hertz has always been my families trusted car rental service. I don’t feel that my experience was customer focused, and cost efficient, but I can agree that it was an unforgettable car rental experience for the journey I was on.

*Zero stars. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME COMING TO THIS LOCATION !! I booked an SUV back in FEBRUARY for a Spring Break trip in April. 30 mins before my pickup time I received a call which I missed telling me they didn’t have any cars available. I asked to speak to a manager. Brett at first seem like he was going to help, but end up doing nothing. This is horrible, unprofessional, and just wrong customer service from this branch and from a company as big as hertz. From the reviews this seems like a common practice from this branch and I will be contacting corporate, but first I need to figure out how not to completely ruin my child’s Spring Break.

I would not recommend anyone rent a car here. The customer service at this location is below unacceptable. I booked a reservation 24 hours in advance for a 1 day rental and when I show up to pick up the car, they inform me they don’t have anymore cars and they can’t do anything about my reservation. They LIED and said they tried to call me to let me know, but my number was not listed. This is a BOLD lie because in order to even book the car, my telephone number and email MUST be included in the reservation. They could have called me, they could have emailed me, they could have even cancelled my reservation, but to not inform me of anything at all and then lie to my face is unacceptable! I was left stranded in their parking lot which had a fleet of cars in it btw but they made too many excuses as to why they weren’t available and no car for my trip. 0 out of 10.

I tried to give them a chance… but I should’ve just listened to the reviews lol. They called me bright and early on the day I was suppose to pick up the car…and said they had no inventory. Lol

Contacted us while we were on the road to pick up a car to inform us there was no car. Manager Star Gowens refused to refund the money we already paid. Her behavior was completely unprofessional.

They move a little arrogant/bossy/rude, but they got the business done as far as checking in and out.

Worst service ! I booked my car for my trip and when I’m at the location they say sorry we don’t have anything available! Now I’m stuck don’t have ride to go back neither have car for trip ! WOW
