Renter beware!!!! Rented a car for a week to drive around Palm Springs, returned it WITHOUT damage. When we returned it the Lot attendant did walk around & said we were good to go. The next day received an email from Hertz with pictures of a large crack across the entire front windshield & Hertz wants us to pay $400 for it!!! There was NO CRACK when we returned the car. Ridiculous!!! Horrible, untrustworthy company!! The crack clearly happened AFTER we returned vehicle, we ARE NOT responsible for it. Will be contacting BBB. Will never rent from them again & you shouldn’t either!!
Couldn't make it any easier. Walked up to counter, told them my name, gave them my drivers license and I got my keys in or about two minutes. I do have to admit I am a Hertz Gold member and I'm sure it was a primary reason it was so easy.
Had a great experience at Hertz. Service was great. The car was really nice. Employees very helpful service was five stars.
This team is awesome! Leon set me up with a last minute rental and did an excellent job of communicating charges. Another rental company did not have the car I had reserved and I was left in a pinch. Hertz found a car for me and got me on the road within a few minutes. Friendly service and a good deal. Will definitely rent here again!
Zero line and incredible service!! Jessica was amazing and actually upgraded us to a sleek convertible making our time in Palm Springs extra special! She was a ray of sunshine to interact with and made our car renting process extremely enjoyable. Thank you Jessica and Hertz for your hard work! It was such a pleasure working with you!
Last night I arrived late due to 4.5 hour flight delay. The rental companies were all closed except Hertz and the signs said to use Hertz. The heavier set man with brownish-grey hair who was working suddenly decided he was done for the evening and would not even acknowledge myself or the person in line behind me. I asked if he was going to wait I just and he rudely said no and punched out on his computer. I said “are you going to assist us or tel us what to do?” And his response was “I already told you the answer and you obviously don’t like it” and he walked away. I was not able to get my rental car until the next morning even though I called to say I was late and was told someone would be there. This man doesn’t belong in customer service and I will be filing a corporate complaint as well.
Just a friendly FYI: never buy the "manager special" on their website. It sounded like it was going to be a good deal on a compact car but they noticed it was only two of us upon arrival so the special of the day was an SUV. We had to "upgrade" to a smaller car. Maybe if you gamble on it, you might get the car size you need. I have never been this gypped on a rental my entire life.
I originally rated this location 5 stars in 2018 when I had an excellent experience. However, in Feb 2022, I canceled my rental at this location, and somehow a rep here really messed up. They re-activated my reservation and rented out the car to a stranger using my Hertz #1 gold account and credit card. Despite this huge mess-up, Hertz at PSP provided absolutely zero customer service. They didn’t even reply to the Hertz head office dispute. Eventually, after a 7 business day wait, and about 6 phone calls, I got my $400 back from HQ after a huge headache. I will not be renting again here.
The service rep left an hour before closing leaving me without a car. The next morning, I showed the manager my flight # proving I arrived at 10pm the night before and they were supposed to remain open until 11pm. No one answered the phones nor called me back the next morning after I left a message for help. I spent $50 on Uber to and from the airport and the only accommodations from hertz were to return the gas tank on empty and a $100 gift certificate towards my next hertz rental. Still don’t like the fact that because I reserved online directly through hertz, the payment was automatically processed not allowing a prorate of credit back for the amount of time I was w/o a car. Lastly, hertz has no customer service support through their app or hotline. Also,
Beware, the Hertz counter at Palm Springs Airport scammed me. And may have scammed others. I showed up to pick up my car with a pre-paid reservation, and the agent asked if I would like to upgrade for "only $37". I thought that was a great deal and took it. They didn't provide a receipt until one was sent to my email and I was well on my way driving the car. To my surprise, the receipt showed a MUCH higher total due to the upgrade apparently costing $37 PER DAY! Hertz refused any refund and has stonewalled my credit card company. Watch out to make sure they don't scam you.
