i had a couple of stays here, unfortunately, but every time i was welcomed with open arms. there's a certain shame i felt in returning, but all the staff assured me there was no shame in getting help, and that meant the world to me. i'd say 99% of the staff is genuinely there to help how they can. of course you have your fair few who weren't as friendly, but for the most part everyone was kind. the staff and doctors really took their time to get to know me, make me feel comfortable, and keep me involved in the process. the food was surprisingly good, the kitchen staff were all kind, and the activities/therapies they have planned are nice breaks for throughout the day since it can get pretty boring honestly. i highly recommend this facility and am happy knowing i have somewhere great to return to if i need help again!
I've been to Ohio hospital and that was even worse in Columbus. At least I could say here they let you smoke and the food is better than most places. Other than that The staff is rude and sometimes abusive. This used to be a decent place, not anymore.
Please do not send your loved ones to this facility. Try Marymount, Lutheran, or Laurelwood where there is somewhat a standard of care. I had a loved one in this facility and it was like pulling teeth to get any kind of answers. I entrusted them to their care and they just kept her locked up without any kind of care. You will not be able to visit and support your loved one. You will not talk to anyone to assist with their care plan. If you do talk with someone don't plan on any of your words being relayed to the physician. You will not talk with a physician actually your loved one may not even see the doctor. And don't bother calling the patient advocate because you will leave a message for NO ONE! I am disgusted this is how we are caring for people with mental illness. Locking them up with little communication with their family is not the way to treat their illness. Having a physician come to visit a patient at bedside and question them about highly personal traumas in front of their roommate is not the answer. I will be watching to see how they bill my insurance because I have heard they also make up false diagnoses to charge a long visit. I may have to share with social media too so that others know how they work.
I found it very useful to learn that medical facilities can hire individuals and give them the title of nurse, even if they are not nurse practicioners with medical degrees. This would explain why Nurse Alan M, who injected me with syringes in my sleep, cannot be found on the government's NPI records. It would also explain why he could not legally explain to me what any of the medications I was taking were. I learned a lot from this place and 3.5 years later I can still remember their faces in detail
This place is a joke! Please do NOT send any loved one there. They are rude and mean to patients. They never answer the phone or give messages to the patients!! My husband called several times to get an update from the psychiatrist and never got a call back. We are beyond upset and now we will have thousands of dollars to pay for NOTHING!!! Wish I can give 0 stars.
Please do not take any of your loved ones here, I came in for insomnia. They treated me for ADHD. Gave me ADHD medication twice a day which did not help the not sleeping part... And then gave me melatonin to sleep which takes hours to work, They stripped me of my anti-panic disorder medication which resulted in me having a panic attack every day It was unbearable I am now out and on my medication again and so happy to be home and out of that hell house if I could give it no stars I would and if you get doctor helmet I mean Dr, helmi jehan just know the board is very aware of her and the patient advocacy number is 1171 if called inside the facility on the phone, it won't bring you to the front desk like the patient advocacy number in the back of the blue folder they give you The received comment means nothing to me fix your facility
My daughter has been there since Wednesday she said it’s ok, HOWEVER since then she has had a fever off and on and said her tonsils are so swollen she can’t swallow she’s crying in pain. She was told yesterday she would be swabbed for covid, flu and strep still hasn’t happened, supposed to happen today. The nurse just told her now to stay in her room because she doesn’t want to get sick but she’s been around and involved in everything since being admitted. What good is staying in her room sick going to do when she can do that at home! To me they want to keep you there for however long insurance will pay. A money grab when my daughter is not getting the proper medical care. She asked the process of filing a written grievance and I was told by a nurse that they explained to the process to her, when I just talked to my daughter she said all they said to her was yea, you can write something. Nothing else.
This place was a great place for me to go to for my mental health issues. Everyone was really helpful, nice, and they helped me so much. I would give them 10 stars for their group therapy sessions. I know where to go if I ever need help again. Thank you soo much.
Don't bother calling for patient advocate, they do not have a prompt for that. and good luck getting them on the phone. Worst place anyone person can seek help at, the doctor there Jehan Helmi she should have her license revoked, she stands on the top of the bad service list very rude and unprofessional, never before had to deal with such a person in general, the place as whole is horrible all they see is $$$$, my first encounter: the nurse can out to front desk with a bad attitude and lied to me, the staff will trick, mislead and threaten patient to sign any document they see fit to keep them there as long as possible, this place should be shutdown. they have no program during the day, Patients see the so called doctor for less than 10 min and nothing else to do before and after, who wouldn't go crazy, oh and by the way she called my daughter crazy, that was her evaluation, very professional right!!!
My story is very similar to Bill Cooke. My daughter is there now. She went for mental health help. Now we cant get her out. She has been there for 6 days. I have left several messages for her Doctor to call me. She refuses to do so. Her initial time of stay was 3 to 5 days. After they ran our insurance information, it is suddenly 10 days. She is now traumatized and feels trapped. I am scared this is going to do more harm than good. I know she will be reluctant to seek help again because of this place. The nurses I have talked to are very understanding, polite and try to help as much as they can. I think my next step is to go there and demand answers. I cant get them from a phone call. Please be very careful if considering this place for yourself or a loved one. It may help some people, but not in our situation.
