Hillsdale Hospital is a progressive rural healthcare facility located in south central lower Michigan. Nestled in a scenic county of some 47,000 residents, we are just over an hour from metropolitan areas, such as Detroit, Lansing, Toledo, Ann Arbor, and Kalamazoo. One of the unique aspects of our community is Hillsdale College, a private liberal arts college. Hillsdale County also offers 30 lakes, hunting, beautiful golf courses, and a rolling, picturesque landscape. Hillsdale Hospital has 47 acute care beds, 39 skilled nursing facility beds and the ten-bed Dempster W. Muffitt Center for Psychiatric Care. We are a technologically advanced health center, utilizing a 64 slice CT scanner and magnetic resonance imaging, state-of-the-art lab equipment, for in-house diagnostics, and high-tech critical care and emergency departments. The health centers productive surgery department includes four surgical suites and an ophthalmology suite, equipped to perform the most complex procedures. Our third floor is dedicated to the Hillsdale Center for Joint Replacement, with 10 private suites for our orthopedic patients.

I understand that emergencies come in, but setting up an appointment two weeks in advance for an Ultrasound, showing up 20 minutes early, only one person ahead of me for a different procedure does not make a person happy when they've wasted gas and missed hours of work only to be asked to wait 40 more minutes because someone else needs your slot. This hospital has disappointed me and others so much. I'll just die the way the good Lord wants me to rather than count on Hillsdale Hospital.

I brought my wife to the ER for repeated nose bleeds. We were seen very quickly. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The hospital was very clean. This is clearly a very well run operation.

Here for the patient not the profit. Is their new motto.  THAT'S NOT TRUE! GAVE MY MOTHER COVID 19 AND KICKED HER OUT WANTED ALL THE MONEY UP FRONT TO KEEP HER. WOULD NOT TAKE MY DIEING DOG HERE..

Having been here for the last 9 days I feel qualified to make some comments. Having seen some bad reviews after we had moved to the area I got a Doctor in Ft Wayne at Parkview, I begged to be taken there after falling down a flight of stairs. I knew my hip was broken and didn't want to be treated at a small hospital, especially in Hillsdale or Coldwater MI. I was brought to Hillsdale against my objections. I was diagnosed with a shattered hip ball, two tears in the rotator cuff, a broken rib and a cracked vertebrae.  My surgery for the hip was the following day. I was shocked by how well it went. I have previously had a back surgery for a disk herniation, a Kidney removed and my esophagus removed. I have had multiple one night stays. All told I have over two months of total days in different hospitals over the years.  So as a frequent user of multiple hospitals I feel qualified to comment.  First, the most frequent complaint I hear about hospitals is about food quality. Hillsdale has an outstanding food service. I don't think I had ever  had a good hospital meal until my admission. They do a fine job on meals. There are many meals where I cleaned my plate.  As far as nursing, they are outstanding. I have received tremendous care and service from their nurses, They are attentive, as prompt as any hospital I have been in, friendly and caring.  While some of the rooms are old all were clean and neat.  Needless to say I consider this as good as any hospital I have had the bad fortune to stay in. The care is first class, the staff are friendly and the food is excellent!  I get to go home in two days if we stay on schedule for an additional 2 days and a total of 11 days inpatient in this incident.

Hillsdale Hospital Pain Clinic was GREAT!  Professional throughout the experience. I would highly recommend.

I was ok with the doctor but the staff was nowhere to be found. Bed alert was not hooked up. I got the feeling the staff did not care at all if patients fall. I was not impressed with the care from this facility. Just because you are a nice person does not mean you are doing a good job.

Racist Hospital that only hires white people with blue eyes. A real trip to Hell, this hospital should be located in Hell.

Reasonably quick to get you seen, depending on incoming patients. They are thorough on their questions and exams as well as maintaining cleanliness. They seem to listen as well, mostly. There are a few technicians that have proven unprofessional. But, in general, a decent hospital if you need to get seen in an urgent situation.
