About

The Council is here to strengthen and support the International Baccalaureate Programme at Midlothian High School.

Description

Objectives:

A. To promote and support the IB Program at Midlothian High School.
B. To promote communication between Midlothian High School and International Baccalaureate families via a quarterly newsletter and monthly meetings.
C. To support community volunteer projects integral to the curriculum of the IB programme at Midlothian High School.
D. To assist IB diploma graduates from Midlothian High School in their undergraduate education at institutions of higher education through monetary scholarships utilizing the Tina Holley Memorial Scholarship of the IB Council of Midlothian High School.

Mission

To maintain and improve the students educational and social experience in the International Baccalaureate Programme at Midlothian High School by providing mentorship programs, study help, CAS opportunities, college scholarships, and social gatherings for students and parents.

Midlothian High School is called a very good school, but it seems as if that only refers to the building itself and the overall grades. The people are terrible. Teachers are extremely hvypocritical, expecting a student that needs a lot of help to work on their own, while micromanaging another student, who can work on their own. If you're feeling sad and go to a counselor to talk to someone, they will tell your parents that you're depressed and need expensive therapy and medicine. If you are actually depressed and too scared to say anything, no one will care. If you are even remotely different than everyone who brags about having expensive shoes and dumb jokes that have never been funny, you will most likely be made fun of. There are some people who are nice and care about others, but the school tries to bring them down and those kids usually get depressed. Also, teachers won't update grades, lose papers, and fail assignments that you worked hard on, making you and your parents stress, while they tell you and your parents that you could be getting good grades in their class if you tried harder, even though you're already working so hard that it's unhealthy. Also, the food is terrible and some of the classrooms are on the opposite side of the school, so you have to run to the buses and teachers don't care if you can't get home.
They only care about the athletic kids who make honnoral and their parents who participate in all activities. They don't have anything for learning skills. They only give student virtual text books and virtual science labs. they need to accept that people have MANY different ways of learning.
Pointless rules that get more strict every year. Midlo doesn't want students to have any fun besides pointless pep rallies that are a waste of time. Look at it from a students point of view, education is important but stop taking away every freedom possible
My child will be a senior in Sept. I strongly advise other parents to be very careful with this school. They have teachers that purposely try to fail the students and the school does nothing.
who is the tortured soul that thought it would be a good idea to let students rate their own school unfortunately for midlo I'm emerging from an intense fury after trying to navigate their god-forsaken website. one star for you.
Curriculum is OK, but it is a school full of over privileged , single minded rich brats. bleh. Send your kids elsewhere.
