I have only been here a month from FL and all I can say is WOW what a difference from a FL VA. These people from desk help to Dr's have been so polite and fast on getting everything I need done. They really do care HERE I cannot believe they put in a referral and next day have an appointment already. They are top notch The whole VA here is Beautiful and so clean. I cannot understand why All VA hospitals or clinics cannot be ALL one. Every place to set an example for the next to the next. So every Veteran gets the same treatment. That all we learned in the service is Uniformity...right?
I've been going to this VA for years now and have gotten the best care even better than outside care. Most doctors and nurses really care about the veterans and provide an outstanding experience. The primary care doctors are great I've had nothing but the best with four of them so far. The only downside is sometimes the specialty clinics can be backed up but if it's an emergency they'll work you I have been to other va's went on vacation and nothing compares to this VA. It is one of the best by far.
Excellent experiences every time I go to the Mountain Home VA or satellite clinics. I've been going there since 2009 and their staff is friendly, professional, and genuinely care about my health. I don't know what it's like at other VA hospitals, but I recommend to all my veteran friends to check out their VA healthcare network. Navigating the bureaucratic paperwork and getting started can seem overwhelming, but there are plenty of staff and outside organizations such as The American Legion who will be more than happy to assist.
This place is horrible. It's sad when you know Ballad would have better care than the VA. Staff and physicians are incompetent. If you have a loved one there, you have to be an advocate for them. Question everything. Nursing staff on the step down unit are rude and useless except for the sitters and CNAs. The surgical residents should not be allowed to run free with our vetaran's health. This facility takes care of our men and women who serve but it is the worst hospital that I have ever witnessed. Unfortunately, it is the only option many of our vetarans have.
It is so disappointing that this place has such bad turn over rate because my husband has had 2 different primary cares leave the VA in less then 2 months so his appointments keep getting pushed off, I am so utterly frustrated with the VA and how they act like they care about veterans but can't even keep their staff, I'm disappointed vets are treated like they don't matter here, anytime you want to know what's going on no one has any answers, no one returns your calls, I've called social work over 5 separate times now left messages everytime and I never get a response, I literally have no idea how this place has 4 stars with the way it is. I am so disappointed.
James H. Quillen VA Medical Center for me has gone above and beyond from basic care to life saving treatments. Every department the Domicilary, urology, eye clinic, pharmacy primary care. They care. It’s the people that make the difference at this VA.
Hands down the most professional, helpful and friendly VA facility that I have been to. They treat me like a person not a number. You have to wait sometimes, just like any other facility on the planet but the care is exceptional!
They are always nice and polite. They are very understanding and knowledgeable. I do all of my health care there because of the staff and the strides they go through for you.
My 90 year old father was a patient there for 6 days before passing away. He was treated with such care and compassion. The seemed to genuinely care about their patients and their families, as well. I would recommend this hospital to any veteran.
I give it a lower rating, only because I feel the older you are the less Quality care you receive. The Staff and nurses are the Best. Problem lies with the administration.
