Junius Ponds Cabins & Campground

About

A great spot to camp located in the Finger Lakes. Family friendly campground with activities, and outdoor fun.

Description

Junius Ponds Cabins & Campground was established and started in 1996 by Harold and Sharon Dadson. Since then, the campground has expanded to over 250 sites including seasonal, weekend, longterm, tents and cabins. We offer a great deal of activites for kids ages 1 to 100. We offer a craft and hayride every weekend, free and available to anyone staying in the campground. We also have campground dinners and the occasional wine tasting for adults. There are three playgrounds located throughout the campground and a swimming pool. We celebrate Easter, Christmas, and Halloween during the summer and we also hold a charity carnival every year. We love to have a good time with good friends, young and old, new and familiar. There is something to do for everyone! Fish in our Ponds ( Catch and Release), play Pickleball with Harold, check out our lawn games, or just get your daily walk in by strolling around the campground! Pets are always welcome to our campground because they are apart of the family too! Our friendly office staff are always here and willing to help with any questions, comments or concerns. You can make online reservations at www.juniuspondscabinsandcampground.com or give us a call!

Love the cabins. We stayed in cabin 1 by the bathrooms which are convenient with three kids and has a nice grassy yard and fire pit. Then we stayed in cabin 4 on the opposite side which is set away from the road and in the trees. Cabin 4 is further from the bathrooms and has stones around it but has excellent shade from the sun and a porch swing. Both cabins were great and the pool is awesome. They also have soft ice cream.
To be honest we did worry a little about the hwy noise, especially when we stayed a month. But, even with that and being 45’ and heavy, requiring some premium maneuvers to park, this was a favorite. We scored site 240 which is off to the side of the main drag and had a generous space with a nice open field to face our window into. The park is mainly seasonal or long term locals. Here’s the reason we enjoyed it so much….the people. From the owner and staff to the regular residence, all were welcoming and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our site and the park in general. Tons of activities for young and old. Beautifully maintained with pride. Bonus is its close proximity to all the Finger Lakes have to offer. Geneva, Seneca, Penn Yan,Skaneateles, and tons more including parks galore. Not to mention our dog LOVED getting up early and chasing rabbits near our rig. Mind you he’s 15 and no way the rabbit was in danger.
Stayed for three nights while visiting family nearby. Clean, quiet and friendly, spacious sights. Very pleased. We will definitely go back.
We stayed 3 nights and loved it. We were there weekdays just after labor day, so it was very quiet. Sites are good sized compared to most campgrounds. Approximately 90% of sites are seasonal, but most are neat and the whole place is kept up nicely.
Family friendly. Several play grounds, entertainment, and other activities. On Saturday there was a kids club selling lemonade at their lemonade stand. The grounds are well maintained. Lots of shade trees. Most sites are at least partially shaded. Mostly seasonal sites with about 40 transient, about 6 tent sites and several Cabins. There's a pickle ball, volleyball, and basketball courts along with a pool and game room. They have Quoits, Bocce Ball and horseshoe pits. Very friendly and helpful staff. I'd stay there the next time I'm in the area.
I've driven by the sign off the thruway for this campground hundreds of times and was very hesitant to camp there. It's a hidden gem! I couldn't really hear traffic noise, maybe because we were busy with all the free activities, nice pool, reasonably priced ice cream, nice staff, huge campsite. We were very pleased and definitely want to return.
Though it's small, kids had fun, and that's what matters. It's my first time going camping alone with the kids, and I felt safe. Bathrooms were clean, and the game room was nice for the kids. Recommend it.
We stayed in cabin 4 tucked away a little hard to find because the driveway is grass that looks like a yard. It was a cozy area though. We liked the close by play ground and the bath house was clean. The pool was nice as well. The general people we met were kind and welcoming. The road noise was surprising it was loud at all hours must be a highway close by had to shut windows at night turn on our house fan and noise machine for a light sleeper to actually fall asleep. Would've given it 5 stars but the cabin door randomly opens and its scary in the middle of the night when it's latched and it's opens itself without the wind or anything blowing it open.
Stayed here for 2 weeks while touring the Finger Lakes area. Campground is in a great location to use as a home base. Lots of activities going on every weekend with very good food being cooked by the campground. Back in site was gravel and fairly level with good satellite access. Verizon signal was good on our Mifi. There was a picnic shelter in our "loop" that we made use of when it was raining. Utilities were easily accessible. Did not use their facilities. There are several nice cabins in the park for rentals. There was road noise from I-90 but after a few days, you tune it out...
Very nice place. Staff very nice. . Some spots need a little fixing. Grass cut more offer beyond the office. Its a nice place to hang out. Showers are really nice.
