My favorite camera store for quite some time. Their selection covers the major brands - new and used. Add a huge selection of accessories - tripods, lighting, bags, printing supplies, V-logging setups, and a bewildering array of widgets, and I think you'd need a significant travel budget to find a more complete store. My more recent visits - so far in 2022, as of mid-March have just reinforced my existing satisfaction with this store. If anything they've added to their already extensive inventory. The photos I added were taken standing just inside the entrance, to give an idea of the size and extent of the main store area. The previously noted classroom and exhibition spaces are on the other side of the left wall - seen in the last 2 images - running the full depth of the store. I can't speak to all brands, but at least for Olympus they match any advertised sale prices. They also have regular sales of their own, so depending on your patience quotient you can potentially make your budget go quite a bit farther. Or acquire more gear! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to take the time to answer questions, offer suggestions, or help you make good decisions whatever your level of knowledge or interest. I haven't spent a lot of time carefully watching their interactions with other customers, but I've never seen them try any remotely aggressive sales tactics; I suspect any such behavior would simply not be tolerated. Pre-pandemic they regularly hosted presentations and classes in several rooms in a wing dedicated to such. Industry reps would present new models, give presentations on getting the most out of their equipment, and answer questions. Photographers would give presentations in their specialties - wildlife, sports, portrait, weddings, etc. Presumably these in-person events will resume when it's safe to so so. Currently the offerings are primarily streaming. I haven't yet signed up for one, but they're posted on the Website as they're available. There are also some localish field trip classes - limited in size, and adhering to recommended safety precautions. The Website is extensive, and recently moved to a whole new platform. As of this writing it's still being refined. If you encounter any issues please do email them a "bug report". As with any operation this size they don't have a large IT department to do these kinds of upgrades, so we Beta testers get to help out.
Best photography store! We’ve traveled the US and have very rarely come across family owned photo equipment stores. This one is a total gem! Great selection of merchandise, fair prices and best of all- very helpful staff! Vinny was amazing! Super helpful, patient and knowledgeable! I walked out with lots of different items that had been on my list for weeks, feeling great about the overall experience! I’ll definitely be contacting them for my future camera needs!
I didn’t buy anything, but, I can tell you this, it’s not really five stars, I lied, it’s like 100 stars, the customer service is amazing in my opinion, they are so kind, and if you need help, they help you in great ways, and not to mention the massive selection, they have different sections of camera brands, such as Sony, Canon, Nikon, And more! They have tripods for sale, and a ton of other helpful camera equipment, such as Camera Lenses, Filming Microphones, And other accessories, this place is truly one of the best camera stores in the area! I highly recommend it!
Bought a older camera and was having issues setting it up. Kenmore camera was recommended by a bestbuy employee, and what amazing service i received from Kenmore camera. They helped me find the right CF card, and showed me the basics on how to use my camera. They were super friendly and genuinely nice people! highly recommend and will be going back for my other camera needs!
Really great experiences so far. Stopped by on a whim on a Friday afternoon and the store was really busy but they still made a point to ask if I needed any help. Visited again on a Tuesday evening when the store was totally empty terrible weather! and the crew that was there was equally friendly and attentive. Great prices, great selection of pre-loved equipment. I’ll be back probably many times even though I live 45 mins away. Gotta love a local camera store!
Very knowledgable, patient, and friendly staff. Selection is out of this world. I feel like a kid in a candy shop when I go here. The only downside is my wallet feels a lot lighter when I leave for some reason. *Totally in jest* I definitely recommend Kenmore Camera for any photographer at any experience level from new to professional.
As the year draws to a close, I thought I’d review Kenmore Camera. Kenmore Camera is my closest camera store so I may be a little biased. That said, while it’s not the only one in town competition is a good thing, it’s the one I go to the most because of its convenient location, outstanding customer service, and product selection. I’m a NPS member - I rely on my equipment to capture photographs of events that cannot be repeated. I often have only one chance to capture that decisive moment - there’s no second takes for when a graduate walks across the stage to be hooded by their thesis advisor. A split second is the difference between a great photo and a usable one. Similarly, while I can purchase my gear directly from NikonUSA or one of the large, New York city stores, I instead choose Kenmore Camera. This is because they get it right the first time - the people that work there haven’t pushed a sale on me or encouraged me to buy something that I didn’t want or need. All they do is provide options and knowledge in response to my questions. For somebody who might not have fully thought out what it is that they really want or need, that could seem a bit daunting, but I appreciate this no BS approach. For events, I’m currently using a Nikon Z9 that I purchased earlier this year and expedited via NPS Priority Request. It took me a week and a half to place the order at Kenmore Camera, submit the webform, and pick up the body from Kenmore Camera. This was when there was a 6-month wait for the Z9. I like knowing that I can count on Kenmore Camera to fulfill my future NPS Priority Requests. Photography also is my main hobby. However, because I spend so much time taking photographs of people, I mainly photograph the urban/suburban landscape that is the greater Seattle metropolitan area. I hesitate to call it “street photography” because well, photographing random strangers walking around is pretty boring and downright intrusive/voyeuristic. Instead, people just happen to be in my pictures though most of the time I wish they weren’t - it’s kind of distracting. You might be wondering, “how does this have anything to do with Kenmore Camera?” Well, Michael, one of the folks that works there, has been a great help to me as I explore the genre of landscape photography. This is not just because he knows a lot about the genre, but also because he’s processed many of my trades, or as I like to call them, “long term rentals.” I prefer to purchase used items for my hobby photography - depreciation has already occurred and mirrorless cameras have encouraged people to trade in their DSLR lenses. Recently, I traded in roughly $6,000 worth of gear that I wasn’t using enough and Michael gave me an honest and fair amount, which I then applied to some more Nikon equipment. The reason I know that it was an honest and fair amount was because I went to several of the online used equipment buyers and used their calculators beforehand. The amount was in the ballpark and I didn’t have to deal with some shop in New York lowballing me while they had my equipment MPB. I also didn’t have to deal with eBay, meeting random strangers at a local police station, or any of that hassle. So, speak with Michael if you’re looking to trade in used gear toward something else. One thing that I’m not sure has been brought up before, but it bears mentioning, is that Kenmore Camera has rental spaces. They’re normally used for portrait sessions, but I rented one a couple of months ago for an informal gathering of audiophiles. While we could have used a local library or community space, it’s nice to have a safe, secure, and quiet location to set up our equipment. The price was reasonable and we were able to have the staff lock up the space while we went out to lunch. So, to sum things up, I’m pretty happy with Kenmore Camera. Bob, the store manager, is great. I could probably list everybody who works there by name along with the body or lens that I bought from them but I'm out of space. They’ve never done me wrong, and for that, I’m grateful. Happy Holidays!
I wanted to buy a good and budget camera for my food channel. Eventually I found a camera shop after looking around Seattle, Bellevue, Auburn and Federalway. Drove an hour and reached the right shop. The staff there were very efficient in their work. A gentleman who read my mind. And gave me what I was looking for. That gentleman deserves the honor of world's greatest salesman. I uploaded my first video today. Thanks
Over the last few years I have bought my new camera Pentax K-1 full frame and four, used, Mint condition lenses Pentax Macro 100 2.8 WP, Sigma 70-200 2.8 APO, Sigma 2X APO, Sigma 120-400 4.5 APO. I've always had excellent, Honest service, great values much less than east coast dealers and speedy delivery. My latest purchase arrived at my door less than 24 hours from when I bought it and I live out of state! Like all the others, this lens was better than described. Thank you Joanne and Johnathan!
Had been looking for a hard to find new lens, the Nikon 100-400mm f/4-5.6 and had posted a wanted ad online after looking without luck. James from Kenmore Camera saw my ad and sent me a message that they had them stock. I immediately went online to their website, saw them listed as available and made the purchase. Six days later UPS delivered my lens and it arrived in perfect condition. Everything was perfection; contact, purchase and delivery.
