The manager does a Horrible job at running this place. There is no guarantee that you will get your spot or even get a spot. They will not refund your money even if you booked ahead of time. The manager admitted to us that they overbook. The manager is very disorganized, but the staff is friendly. The river had a lot of trash in it. We saw bags, water bottles, beer cans, food containers and food floating down the river. Bathrooms are dirty and most options are porta potties. No soap so you need to bring your own to wash your hands. I will not be coming here again.
Nice perfect place for those who have Rv, they have full hookup. People with tents have to share the portable toilets. I didn't get a chance to go to the main bathroom which I can't judge by. At least there was water in the stream. There were no insects, it is a plus. Many adults and children who are not taught to pick up their trash from the creek. We will be back!!
3rd year in a row coming here. 1st two years we didn't get to enjoy tubing, but this Labor day weekend the water levels were perfect. The campgrounds have no control of the water flow as we learned this weekend from our new friend Freddie. Who ever controls the dam releases the water. Bathrooms are now open certain hours. I remember them being open all night before, so all the early risers have to wait till 8 to do their Thang. We had our trailers, so no 3 hour waiting for showers. Anyhoo it was great fun. Can't wait for the new water park. Lots of bikers on the vicinity since they opened the down hill bike trail.
The river water is running again!!! I've been coming to this place since high school and started the family tradition coming to this place every year, bringing my kids and my kids still come after becoming adults. Now my granddaughter joins us. It's always fun tubing in the river.Service: 3/5
I do love this place. I've been coming here for 45 plus years . This place used to be 5 stars, but the lack of water in the river is a big downfall . My campsite was littered with metal and plastic bottle caps , skewers , plastic utensils, and other things . All has obviously been here for a while. And no stupid humans pick it up . Sad . Finding trash while hiking all over the place, also sad . I did leave my campsite cleaner than when I arrived, but still…! I really, really hope a solution for water to be released from somewhere happens so I can return.
I love coming here. I’ve been coming since I was 11 years old and I’m 43. I’ve got my own family here also it’s always an amazing and fun time. What I like about it here is you can be out in the nature. Although it is good to have showers and Porta potty‘s, it takes away the fun of real camping, I just wish everyone would see it like that. This is the most awesome place to come and be out in nature who cares if people play loud music for those of u that want quiet time go to an old people rv park‍ let everyone have fun it’s all good start requesting some songs. Join in on the fun. all the employees are super nice never had any problems with any of them it’s camping I love it! Thank you La Jolla for always bieng such an amazing place . Nearby activities: They have the waterpark and it is amazing, especially with the employees being so kind it’s getting better every day!!! Walkability: There’s so many places to walk around there is great exercise, and beautiful nature Food & drinks: They have a store up at the top of the hill when you drive down into the campgrounds you can get anything you need there it’s awesome they even have food that they make like a little kitchen and a spot where you could play pool and enjoy some fun also
The place is nice, but too much dust when the cars passed by. I felt like I eat with dust and breathe with dust. They should put cements or water on the road to make it better. Dont go on the holiday bc its hard for you to find a spot even though you already paid. "They overbooked" Will not come back!
I've been coming here since the early 90s when there was actually a river to play in. Over the years, it's sadly become a stream. Even with all of the rain socal just had, there was little to no water as of July 12th. The review a few down from me with photos states "the river is runnning again" is the only spot to be exact with water the hole. If a huge family is already camping in that spot, then the entire water play area is occupied its small area and knee deep enough to float on a tube. Most sides of the stream in other areas had merky black algea, and it was not inviting. I wish they would ban large speakers on the campground. It's really not necessary. Playing it so loud that others can't hear themselves think or enjoy their vacation is a total joy kill. Also PLEASE take your trash with you. Our family packed up three grocery sized bags full of trash before we set up camp. If you see something on the ground, pick it up and throw it away! Water bottle caps, Capri sun straw sleeves, empty mini chip bags, candy wrappers....do better yall! Besides that, the staff was very friendly. *Bring mosquito repellent*.
Great place but the pricing is off $30 bucks a night is worth the river for sure but it isn’t worth being so close to people Mexican music and big bright lights from some fiesta a few camps down aglwasg until midnight on all three nights I stayed there, you would think for the price they would at least police the campground
Although this place is meant to be cool, it is a true ghetto. You can't bring a portable bathroom or shower, but you can go tubing with beer cans and bags of Cheetos in your hands on a river with algae. When I arrived on Thursday before Memorial Day, I knew it would get busier, but I had no idea what was in store. There are no boundaries for putting up your tent and there's no respect for campers. They will enter your site as if it's part of their itinerary, it's so disrespectful and shocking. You may not be able to keep a great spot long. Mine was great for one night and then invaded the next two days, so we cut our stay short and returned home. There was trash everywhere, and the bathrooms and showers were disgusting. It was overwhelming to see tents and canopies with tags, chairs and tables filled with Walmart bags and groups of people listening to loud music and littering the place.
