Description

First opened in 1928, the Lincoln Theatre is a landmark in African-American and jazz history.Having recently completed a $13.5 million renovation funded by a partnership of public and private support, the Lincoln has reopened as a multi-use, state-of-the-art performing arts and education center serving the diversity of the Columbus and central Ohio community and ten resident Columbus arts organizations. The restoration is the foundation of revitalization plans for the King-Lincoln District, providing a bustling hub of activity 365 days a year with performances, rehearsals, and classes in the performing arts, as well as a wide variety of community events such as film festivals, meetings, and receptions.

The Lincoln Theatre believes in supporting local, international, and known artists and their dreams. When an artist or a group perform, it feels like you are performing with the artist. Their Songs At The Center feels like you are being serenaded, and the Backstage At The Lincoln provides and intimate interview and performance with local and known artists. This historical theatre and landmark embodies Columbus’ culture not only up close and personal, but they help reach for the beyond. Beautifully designed, beautiful stage, and comfortable seating. Convenient parking areas that are walking distance from the theatre. The directors and staff are amazing individuals. Prices are always decent.
Beautiful theater offering exceptional seating throughout in an intimate performance space.
My wife and I and was in a play called "Family Matters". There was an issue with the sound crew and the place needs so.e upgrades. It is a nice venue for the African American community.
Beautiful, we'll maintained theater. I love that it's a smaller venue; I don't believe there could be a bad seat in the house. The staff was pleasant, cheerful and very helpful. This was our first time attending a show here "The Happy Elf". The cast is exceptional and we will be looking for future presentations.
Always love this place. I have not been since 2019. The backstage show was amazing. The atmosphere is awesome and the people who are there have a wonderful vibe. I definitely will return again. I have been invited by my niece to attend the African dance class, I think I will have to check this out.
Props to a man not mentioned in the histories of this jewel, Chuck Adrian, who put a great deal of his own money into stabilizing the structure which had fallen in disrepair. His unselfish interest set the stage for future restoration to the gem it is today.
This place is a multiple purpose space. I'm speaking on the kids camp. It was a great experience. Staff are absolutely wonderful and definitely focused on your kid. My little guy can't wait to go back next year !
I read a few reviews before my first time visiting, about how cosy this place is and how close everyone is to the stage. It is absolutely true! The decor is beautiful and I cannot stress how I love the free and hassle-free parking at the lots surrounding the theater! The staff and ushers were great and the bathrooms are the most systematic I've seen, with a separate entry and exit door that makes waiting in line SO much less of a pain.
An intimate theatre bringing you close to the action on the stage, and accommodating down to earth shows. We saw the Celtic Nutcracker and it was amazing. The sound, lighting and temperature all made the venue a welcoming place to see the show.
I hadn't been inside the Lincoln theatre ever because when I was growing up or was closed. It is very nice inside. I'll attend again in a couple of weeks for another event.
