The mall is okay over all, however the children play area in front of the Bay is very poorly placed. The open roof and glass dome reverberates any noise from the area and makes it extremely loud for the whole cafeteria and all shops around the area for hours on end. Not only is it very headache inducing but it also effects the whole shopping experience. It sucks that while you are trying to shop or order food in the area you will need to stop talking until the noise in the play area is over so you can hear anybody you are trying to talk too, not friendly to those hard of hearing. It isn't the best that the only solution is for the security and mall staff to try and ask and rely on the children/ parents to not scream in the play area. Not well planned out but good intentions. I feel bad for any staff that need to be around it.
I went Lougheed mall yesterday after a long time to visit Sport Check. I must say I found this mall quite nice. It was spacious and clean. The shops seemed a lot more organized than some of the other busy malls where it is hard to identify and buy anything. I hope they get more companies to open up with the empty spots so it can be a better shopping experience.
Laughed mall is still expanding. They have a popup shop: Lee's donut
Rarely I went to Laugheed Mall, but today I stopped by with a friend to check out the Bay and had a horrible experience with one of their staff. I had no idea that the store close at 7:00. The doors were open and we walked in at The Bay. Other people walked in too. I know the other malls I go they close at 9:00. A staff got upset and raised her voice to get out. At first, I didn’t even know or had a clue what she wanted. She had poor people approach communication skills, unpleasant costumer service, rude with unorganized work ethics.
Lougheed used to be full of different shops. It's been watered down now to only some shops. Maybe it's the economy? But the good new experience is the bathrooms. A lot cleaner and there is a waiting area with a bench. Good consideration.
don’t go into the bay if you wanna get harassed and followed by the employees. They kept following us even though we did nothing and informed security about us and they to followed us to a completely different store. and did not speak to us not once as well as spoke to one employee in the lids store saying we would steal. Don’t every go to this mall all staff are unprofessional and need to chill out if you think I’m doing something come up and talk to me.
When you need some basic supply shopping, this is the right place to go. We can shop for Walmart, London Drugs, Kin's Farm, Oomomo Japanese style 2 dollars plus store, COBS Bread, Anna Bakery, CQ Express Dim Sum. The food court adds new restaurants. The Singapore Curry, Thai Food and new Pizza shop at the entrance of food court. After the shopping you can take a little rest in the big food court. If you like Chines food, you can try a tray of Dim Sum from CQ Express. It locates while across the Kin's Farm.
It's a decent sized mall located next to the Lougheed SkyTrain station. The mall doesn't have a lot of food options. There are a few restaurants in the food court though. The restrooms are mostly clean. But, half of their stalls are either broken or out of order all the time still, better maintained compared to Metrotown mall. On the whole, it's a nice place to hangout on weekends since there's a lot of natural light.
Lougheed Shopping Centre used to be a much more versatile place a generation ago. At that time, there were movie theatres, Safeway stores, Pizzahut & many clothing & shoe shops. All that is gone except Walmart & Hudson Bay stores. These days the Mall after upgrading is dominated by a Fitness Centre a revamped Food Court..which is pricier than before, no Pizza outlets & a limited selection of food outlets. Even the banks have moved out to an adjoining building. Overall experience is average.
The old mall is okay! It has everything you need, and it is a modest size. No qualms there, however the new area where BMO has opened seems to be so cheaply constructed. Half the accessibility options aren't working as of June 1st, 2023. Also the lights in the underground parking turn off and on way too frequently. Idk who designed this place but rn it needs a lot of work
