This is a pretty sweet theater.. The chairs are clean and comfortable. They pull out like lazy boys.. the concession stand is pretty tight. They have vegan chicken nuggets. But standard Pizzas chicken wings, bread pretzels. Bathrooms are pretty nice too. They have hand sanitizers and sanitizing wipes so you can wipe down your chairs before you go into the theater. They are located outside in the hallway. overall, this is a pretty awesome theater
Although, the ticket window is still outside you must enter the building and go left to purchase tickets. The concession area has almost everything. A quick escalator ride or steps takes you to a huge theater and into huge recliner seating. Try your best to not fall asleep lol. Enjoy
This may be one of my favorite AMC locations in the city. I don't much care for the one at 42nd Street. Kips Bay is nice. I really like the staff at 34th Street but in the evenings it gets really busy. This one was busy but you'll just love those extra big red recliners they are the best and nobody is sitting too close to you they're not bumping you in the aisles because guess what, there's enough room between the end of your reclined seat and the next row of seats that they don't have any reason to be stepping over you. This isn't so in the beautiful huge IMAX stadium seating at Lincoln Center. I love the decor in this location and while the refreshment stand was pretty busy and the way it's arranged you're going to get bumped into by other patrons but they're better staffed than Magic Johnson so the line isn't unreasonably long.
Its ok. Roomy seats. Recliners. Unfortunately, children that were there did not know how to behave and were chatting incessantly while their parents in the row behind them said nothing. Only one concession stand in main lobby. The Dyson hand dryers in the bathroom were out of order.
I am absolutely "estactic" that there are some places that you previously visited years earlier in your life and yet still remain a "top notch * integrity driven * establishment"! The theater is really nice & beautifully maintained.... Kudos & Bravo to management & the team. I applaud & Sincerely Thank you...
This theater used to be really good and clean, always enjoyed coming here but the quality and service has declined greatly. The place looks and feels run down, the recliners are dirty and broken down. No crowd control or anything, saw a movie and had a bunch of teenagers running up and down and entering/leaving the auditorium over and over messing up the movie for everyone. Will just dish out some extra bucks and take myself to some of the newer theaters that have opened up, this one isn’t worth visiting anymore
I’m not sure if this is this location’s issue or an overall AMC issue but there really needs to be a better way to monitor assigned seats. I arrived a little early to have time to get my snacks. I took the time to pick out the seat I wanted, which was directly center-facing, and except for 3 seats on the end, that row was empty when I bought my ticket just 40 minutes prior. When I get to my assigned seat, a woman was sitting in my seat with 3 additional people sitting beside her. I kindly let her know that she was sitting in my seat and proceeded to show her the confirmation with my seat number, date and movie time. She then showed me a small paper ticket with most of the writing rubbed off except for the same seat number I had. I definitely could have challenged this but given the previews had started, I just let it go and sat directly behind them because at the time, no one was in those seats but it was hard to get comfortable looking over my shoulder wondering if someone was going to come in and claim the seat I moved to. Like I anticipated, the actual seat holder for the seat I moved to came with 5 other guests, so I explained to them what happened and then I moved again. By this time, the movie was about to start. Then all of a sudden, a group of 6 people came to the row I moved to. I asked the woman closet to me from the group if I was sitting in one her seats. She said yes because 2 more were coming. I again explained to her what happened and moved over one seat to accommodate the 2 additional people that were coming while still maintaining a middle seat. Well, one of the 2 people who came afterwards wanted to give me a hard time, saying that I should respect the assigned numbers of the seats. I told him to go tell that to the woman in my seat which is why I had to move 3 times in the first place. Not to mention, where I had finally moved my seat to did not interfere with the seats his group reserved, so I let him know he needed to pipe down or go get an AMC employee to work this entire thing out, including with the woman in my initial seat. So, he finally calmed down. I thought AMC dropped the ball by double selling a seat. But turns out, another patron on my initial row told me that about 15 minutes after I moved the first time, some random person walked in, spoke to the woman who was sitting in my assigned seat, then she and her guests got up and left. The whole experience was uncomfortable and inconvenient. AMC needs to do better at checking tickets or go back old school when Ushers were visible and available for help.
It’s a good little theater that shows all the big stuff that you want to see, BUT NEVER go at 4pm!!! A lot of kids and older teens that ruin the whole experience, never had a bad time at night though.
We saw Oppenheimer on a morning showing and it was great. Unfortunately the staff are grumpy and don't want to show up to work early in the morning or just miserable! We asked for a bottle of water and someone said that's not their job. I'm sorry if it's not but it's nice to be courteous and respectful towards customers who are technically paying your salary. So my advice for this young generation of employees...smarten up! Or you maybe at this job a lot longer than anticipated...
Paid $100 + drinks and popcorn etc to watch the Meg 2 3D yes I’m an idiot but it was shown as a 2D movie! They charged $27 for that nonsense. I come to this cinema at least 6 times per year for the reclined chairs and location but this has soured the experience. I don’t think I can spent another dollar there again after this.I told the clerk asking for a partial refund and she didn’t care because “it’s only $4 per person” I paid for 5 people and ended up watching a movie through heavily tinted windows. An overall poor experience for one of the most expansive movie theaters around.
