We want to camp at the lake, but that campground was closed due to flooding. Some of the spots seemed a bit cramped. There is decent privacy with trees between spots. We found a good spot close to one of the restrooms. There is limited area to explore due to all the willows by the creek.
Our favorite campground on the eastern side. Quiet, beautiful, first come first serve, usually has vacancies, and not hard to get too. The hike at the end of the road is fairly popular and worth it
A great basic campground beside Mill Ceek a good source for shower and dishwashing water Stayed 3 nights in a motor home. Lots of different sized spaces with shade and sun. Cement block outhouses no drinking water was available but we came prepared Lake is used as a water supply for hydroelectric power It was full and beautiful. We did the May Mine hike from the dam parking lot A good full day hike from campground to Crystal Lake about 5 1/2 hrs RT. Going back in the fall to do the Falls hike and enjoy the colors change
Beautiful campground... Still has yellow leaves but they all turning brown. I wish I had come earlier so I could see so many fall leaves.
We visited Lundy Canyon Campground 09/27-09/28/2019 and had a great experience. The sites are mostly tucked into private little aspen groves, which could be spectacular in color during fall! Very quiet, far enough from the highway. Great night sky. Our site 23 also had a brand new fire ring. Bathrooms were clean. No potable water. The only issue we had was it was suuuuuuper windy during our visit. We tent-camped and it was intense. Not sure if that's a regular occurence here.
nice simple campground , toilet had papers thanks , some large sites, just watch out for bears sniffing around on your belongings, and carefully use the bear boxes.
Amazing Mono County campground in the aspens. Excellent place to see fall colors. Mono County really knows how to run a campground. They take really good care of the place and are also inobtrusive.
So very nice to spend time with Family and Friends, wonderful camping and fishing. Restrooms: Large Port I Pots, Clean and tidy. Dog-friendliness: Dog leash required Picnic area: Day Use Area
Always a pleasure. Each site is relatively private and, at $16 a night, you can't beat it. About 1/4 mile from Lundy Lake where there's ALWAYS trout. About a 30 minute drive from the ghost town of Bodie, 30 minutes from Mammoth Lakes, 20 minutes from Bridgeport, 10 minutes from Lee Vining and Mono Lake. Edit 8/30/22: The local business at Lundy Lake is going through some ownership issues. The lake has been drained on my last visit so, Lord only knows what going on there now.
Great campground!! Very clean bathrooms. It's about 15 mins to the Lundy Canyon Trailhead. Remember to bring cash to pay for your campsite. We stayed here 1 night last weekend before our backpacking trip. There was still some fall color around.
