Just recently I had my gallbladder removed by Dr. Summers the staff the nurses the doctors the cooks custodians were all very professional. Very helpful. I went into the emergency room late Sunday night. The doctor on-call was there within minutes had me take a CAT scan. Give me a medicine for my pain. His name is Dr. Mitch Poppin, my physician. He got a hold of Dr. Summers give him the results of the CAT scan and they did an MRI and determine that I need to have my gallbladder removed. I am very impressed with the people that work at this hospital. Thank you.
I am no longer a patient at MRH because they have decided to abandon all the people in Madison and the area who can’t afford Full Blown Medicare. I am embarrassed for the hospital and they will be back once their plan does not work out. I know from experience that they want to charge high dollar and give minimal service. I have billing errors, dosage errors , very long wait times for an appointment and the service people are all just out of school and think they know everything and give an attitude if you correct them.I was told that I never received prescriptions from them but at my house I have two empty bottles and a new one on the way but they continue to tell me that script was never written!! I could go on for another 3 pages but everyone gets the point. Another review said it was “ a band aide station “ I kinda have to agree. I was told to take the wrong amount a number of times, luckily I know my meds! One last thing even though there are too many issues I would not have left or even written this. It is because your organization is asking people like me to go with less funds in my pocket and less service so they can make more money and I will not. So THANK YOU for your swift kick out the door. I’m actually GLAD You have decided this greedy plan for your self and I truly wish you well. This area cannot afford Full blown Medicare for most ! It’s gonna be very quiet there. Grin….. All the best! I hope I’m incorrect!
Can’t ever get in to see MY PCP, it’s always an issue. The answer is “it’s rural healthcare” I’ve lived in 3 different states, had 3 doctors, never had an issue, not so much here. My PCP is top notch, but the powers to be have zero answers.
Very disappointed in the care and services provided. Not sure who sets the rates / price for service here, but it must pad their end of year. Received bill and couldn't believe the price charged. I seen a internist at Sanford for cheaper than a appointment with a PA. Disappointed in any nurse calling you back with results. In my opinion This clinic needs a overhaul and restructure of it's organization as it could have much more potential to serve the community
avoid if possible one of the most unprofessional establishments I've been in. the doctors do nothing but look down on you and disrespect you for the duration of your visit. of the multiple times I've been out there in the past few years, NEVER have I had a doctor actually help me. every time its just them throwing pills and notes at me without giving me any information about my concerns or conditions. awful place, just go to Sioux falls for any non emergency appointments. avoid this hospital
Went in knowing a had a double ear infection, already had another doctor from Sioux Falls tell me this. Originally went in just to get some more antibiotics because that’s what my other doctor told me to do if the first batch didn’t work. The Doctor was in the room for maybe a minute. Stabbed my ear with the little thing you use to look in the ear, looked for like 2 seconds each ear then went on to tell me nothings wrong and I should go buy some over the counter decongestant. Not to mention I told her I had already tried mucinex for the last week and it did nothing. I left with no probiotic and my ears hurting more then when I went in
Our experience with the birthing center was exceptional. The care the nurses gave to my wife was far exceeding what we expected. The knowledge of the nursing staff was like having a doctor on hand at all times. The safety and health of my wife and the baby was always put forefront while ensuring her comfort and needs were met at all times. We have 4 children and we still learned a great deal from the staff. We are so happy to have chosen a smaller, hometown center as we were never rushed and were allowed to let things progress naturally. They made our new addition to the family a great experience and made sure the safety of my child was never in question. I can never say enough how the staff made us feel.
I am currently a student at Dakota State University and I had to visit Madison Regional Health earlier this year. Being a college student with no health insurance, I was afraid to visit a hospital due to not having sufficient funds to cover the cost. I was told by some friends that my visit to the Madison Regional Hospital would be free, since I was a student. I called in to verify this was true. The lady who answered told me the visit would be free, but wanted to verify with another member. I was then transferred to another staff member who told me it was free. During this time I was in tremendous pain, so I drove myself to the hospital. Upon arriving I asked the lady at the front if my visit was free and she confirmed it would be this is the 3rd time I was told my visit would be free. I got checked in and saw the PA. I spoke with the PA about my symptoms and we ran some tests, before running the tests I asked if the tests were included in the free visit 4th time asking, she confirmed that that it would be included. I was unable to resolve my issue, which is understandable due to the complexity of my symptoms. Over the next few months I kept getting collection calls and every time I would have to explain to them that I was lied to about the price, and that I wouldn't have came in if there was a fee. Eventually they sent my debt to a collection agency, which I recently paid. I will never go back to this place and am disappointed with the lack of professionalism showed by this Hospital.
Charged me $300+ for a COVID test that was required before working a night shift. Never once asked for my insurance card and send a bill months after I left as a travel nurse when my insurance wouldn’t cover it.
I’ve had to call them 5x, ran to the local pharmacy 4x times, and 6 hours later they finally tell me they did not send my prescription in because insurance does not cover it. They said they would call back, it is the next day and I am still waiting. I called them and they said they’d get back to me but hours later they still haven’t. I just want my prescription. Also the lady on the phone does not seem to care which could be part of the I have not gotten a response. The only time I got a response was when someone else had answered the main phone.
