Mary Scanlon, D.O.

I always have a positive experience everytime I go see Dr. Mary Scanlon. She is by far one of the most personable, attentive, and thorough doctors I've ever seen. I've been a patient of hers for several years and will definitely continue for several more. She is truly a rarity in these times.

Incredibly Rude staff. The phone recording says open at 11 on Thursday. I was waiting outside and place was closed upon arrival. At 1130AM staff member drove by and said the office doesn’t open until 12pm I stated the answer machine says 11AM. Person replied that’s because Dr Scanlon isn’t in today only Dr Simmons is in. This was fine because Dr Simmons is who I wanted to see. I went to lunch and returned at 1230PM and the front door was still locked so I went to the other door which was open. Staff advised I used the wrong door. I advised front door was still locked. Staff did not offer and apology but shuffled me to outside lobby . Then I was told that Dr.Simmon would not be in until after 2pm and he could not see me without an appointment. I asked why she told me 12 because I would have gone home. Same staff member proceeded to lie and stated that I asked for Dr Scanlon and attempted to make the miscommunication my fault when I do not know Dr Scanlon . I had been seeing Dr Simmon for about 25 years before moving to Tampa for a few years. I guess I need a new Dr because I did call for an appointment and was disconnected while they were taking my insurance information. I left messages for a call back to see if appointment was confirmed but the incompetent staff failed to call back. Making appointments with Dr Simon has been next to impossible since he started sharing his office with Dr Scanlon as this was not an isolated incident. I informed Dr Simmon on my last visit how difficult it was to get an appointment between being put on hold , disconnected, and so on. Hate to get a new Dr. But staff is so bad they are losing a loyal customer and his staff doesn’t care and he doesn’t even know he lost me as a customer because I believe dr simons would care as he was also my mother’s physician and our family relationship goes back over 30 years

Dr. Mary Scanlon and her staff are amazing people. She is, in my opinion, the best healthcare provider I have ever come across. She cares about her patients, and the atmosphere within the office is one of friendliness with a sincere willingness to help everyone. Dr Scanlon runs a very busy practice and works so very hard. Both my wife and I have always found that she spends enough time to address any health concerns we may have. She is an absolute professional. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Scanlon is a great dr. But the office does not know how to do their job and doesn't do their job and to get an authorization or even get anything from that office is ridiculous. The aggravation is not worth coming to this office just ridiculous

They don't see new patients for a year! The lady that answered the phone was so nasty and rude I'm not gonna stop until the state of Florida the county somebody does something about it's absolutely insane the way I was just treated as a new patient to make an appointment we are in June and wanted to set me an appointment for March do not go to this doctor they scan your insurance they do illegal things and I'm going to report her

I could tell a full on book about how horrible the customer service is here. I love Mary Scanlon. But unfortunately her staff doesn’t represent her well at all. Their rude when you can get them on the phone wihich is a miracle I’ve tried the times to get through and each time nothing, leave a message and no call back, then I get a call back after the days and this lady is rude. I wish Mary Scanlon new how horrible it is because I unfortunately will not be going back.

I have been seeing Dr Scanlon for nearly 15 years now. She and her amazing staff are like my family. Yes, they are busy... but to me that's a good thing! People love her!

Wonderful physician. She is thorough and very caring. I drive 45 min to come to get because of HER!

I love doctor scanlon and she is a wonderful doctor but the problem I’m having is with the people that answer the phones. They seem miserable with their job and just rude. Starting to take it personal and I don’t even want to call there when I have a question or need to make an appointment. Thank god Dr scanlon is awesome or i would have switched doctors.

I moved to TN and all I can say is.. I miss Dr Scanlon! If you are looking for the most amazing, genuine, down to earth, real doctor that actually listens and truly cares, you've found her! NO ONE compares, anywhere, any state!! I read reviews, negative reviews, about the staff and I'm sorry but I have to disagree. They have never been anything but kind, professional and absolutely amazing people! I almost didn't come to this office because of some of the reviews and I thank the good lord above, I didn't listen! I will never find another doctor like her. She's one in a million and truly missed.
