I went today to visit the mausoleum where my grandparents are buried the place is falling apart to vandals. I made some calls got a run around how the cops won’t go there at night. The committee has no money to fix any of it and I should move them and buy a plot and move them out of the mausoleum. I weas more than mortified and I will be reaching out to the codes people health sept and whoever else needs to see this . Our family members are being vandalized and Niobe seems to care.
I have loved ones buried at Oak Park. The grounds used to be well maintained. My father has been buried there since August and the grass has not been weedwacked around the headstones. I called and spoke to someone on the board. He was rude and obviously has no respect for those buried there. He stated the grounds would be maintained within a week or so. 2 weeks later and still a mess. I guess I'll have to maintain around my loved ones sites myself.
I can only comment on the lack of compassion and unhelpful attitude of the cemetery office staff. They refuse to disclose burial location information, both to visiting family members and even to librarians attempting to help a patron. It doesn't surprise me that the cemetery grounds are in the state described by the other reviewers, considering the lack of professionalism I experienced attempting information retrieval.
Went through here with my husband's family, looking for a relative's grave. There was no organization that any of us could tell to help find the grave. There was no one around to ask. And it could have been an off day, but by the looks of the grass so overgrown around the graves, it made me wonder about all the other details that are overlooked or ignored. It did not look looked after at all.
The mausoleum is a disgrace! This cemetery is not well cared for. I am saddened to know family members are interred in the mausoleum and on the grounds of this once beautiful cemetery. It doesn’t even deserve the one star I gave it so I could comment.
I enjoy the trees and walking my dog there. Otherwise, it hurts my heart to see a park I loved years ago turn into piles of rubble.
Really, really disappointed in the care of the cemetery. Why is the lawn care is such poor condition?
