I have been a patient with Dr. Mathai for quite some time. He is one of the rare Doctors that truly listens and cares about how you are feeling and what your concerns are. I have been treated with compassion, respect and always made to feel like a person and not just a patient. Appointments are easy to schedule. Ongoing care and communication are addressed in a timely manner. I feel and know I am getting the best care. Also, let's not forget Jess, his RN/assistant. Both of them make a wonderful team. Many thanks for the years of care.
Dr. Mathai and staff are awesome! In this day and age, when the typical doctor / patient relationship is the equivalent of a fast-food drive thru, the good doctor and his staff actually take the time to listen, and care!

So fortunate to have found Dr. Mathai. I have been looking for a primary care provider for a long time. This is a whole different level of service and care. His advice, attention and collaboration are unlike anything I have experienced. Do yourself a favor and become a true advocate for your own health by giving him a call.
I was referred to Dr Mathai back in maybe 2015 ? At providence during a health crisis that appeared cardiac in nature - yet I had no risk factors and tests came back stellar . The PA downstairs at providence referred me to him as “ the hormone whisperer “ …. Even back then . Being a healthcare professional myself I have high standards and was immediately impressed . Not only is his bedside manner impeccable but he immediately explained some tests he was going to order , and some temporary solutions . I knew he was different . He was a functional med dr meets MDcombimed with a naturopath ! he actually was ahead of the curve ordering DUTCH testing ,cortisol level and hormone levels - getting to the root of the problem . He helped advocate for me as well as too my other specialty referrals . Fast forward - I know I was one of the original patients that followed and I’ve NEVER looked back . His ability to listen , communicate and advocate without just giving an Rx is unbelievable . I have fabulous insurance but choose to keep him . He currently manages my hormones and what ever else I need . He recently changed the technique with his pellets - I couldn’t believe it was even better - no bruising no pain at ALLthe next day . I still forget and email him and he reminds to send to his personal email and to not hesitate to text him whenever . He’s been able to help me on weekends and other times that I couldn’t get in for an appointment time t elsewhere and has helped give me natural solutions for a higher quality of life . Jess and Dr Mathai I consider good friends in addition to my health team . I text or call and get a response and whatever needed SAME day!!!unheard of these days I cannot recommend OHDPC enough ! Quit settling for basic robotic healthcare ! And for a reasonable fee ! The quality of care and responsiveness to their patients ts cannot be beat ! Even if we move after we retire I will keep him as my MD !!!
Dr. Yusuf Mathai has been my doctor for roughly 5-6 years now, he is the best primary care doctor i've ever had. That says a lot since I've had countless orthopedic surgeries in my lifetime. I have full coverage insurance provided through my employer, but i'll always use Oregon Health DPC as my primary care regardless of having to pay extra money out of pocket. The cost is extremely reasonable and the level of care and accessibility is something that I have never experienced in the legacy healthcare system. When you have a medical issue or you get sick you need to see your doctor now, you can't wait 3 weeks to get an appointment which normal in the majority of the healthcare system. Thanks Oregon Health DPC for bringing patients and their doctors back together!
I have never felt so cared for by a physician and staff. They are smart, professional, available and caring. I love that they are so readily available when I have a medical question. They have gone above and beyond in every way to give me the best possible care. I love how integrative Dr. Mathai is in his approach to medicine. He knows his medication extremely well, but is more than willing to consider and recommend supplements and natural remedies as well. This is truly integrative care.
Dr Mathai has been an absolute lifesaver, my family is extremely busy and all over the place all the time. With his flexibility and easy connecting through text message from not only him but his office staff. It has been a wonderful experience. I recommend him to everybody. The monthly fee is well worth it, I don’t have co-pays anymore and I feel like my health care is more personable, catered and structured to exactly what I need. Unlike a regular clinic would decide what I need. We have gotten to know Dr Mathai over the last Few years. We followed him from Providence when we found out that he had left. It was the best decision we have made for our entire family, we have six children and they will all see Dr. Mathai. We’ve been with Dr Mathai since he opened his new clinic and I have had so much more resolution to my health conditions that I’ve had ever had before. He spends as much time as necessary with me, and has already help me in a couple emergency situations that I would’ve spent hours in the emergency room for. Again my time is very important and the value of my time being freed up well outweighs the cost of monthly Membership.
A friend recommended, Doctor Yusuf Mathai to me. I am so glad I went to see him. Doctor Mathai is professional, knowledgeable, patient, and kind. He is not dismissive and is intent on helping you be the healthiest version of yourself. Doctor Mathai listens, and puts you at ease where you feel comfortable telling him everything - like he is your friend, only he is your doctor. I recommend him to anyone and everyone. The best doctor I have ever had, and I am old, so I have had my fair share of doctors.
