This place is AWESOME!!! The macarons are perfect in every way possible. I have tried nearly all of their desserts over the last few months and some are better than others, that is more of a personal thing than it is they aren't good thing. The quiches are wonderful. I highly highly recommend swinging through there and at least taking a look at their selection. You won't be sorry!!!
This is a new patisserie that recently opened on the downtown mall, across from Fleurie and owned by Fleurie's pastry chef. We only had one thing, the passion chocolate mousse cake, and holy smokes was it awesome. They had a wide variety of cakes, pastries, and quiches, among others. We will definitely be back to try more things.
Patisserie Torres is other-worldly. This is the finest patisserie in France but located in Charlottesville. I had the salade Nicoise today for lunch and it was amazing. The tuna was delicate and flavorful. I've had the Nicoise elsewhere, including in Nice and this was incomparable. With some gluten intolerance I chose the macoron for dessert and it too was just the right blend of texture and taste. This is a must visit and frequently!
I lived in French-speaking Switzerland for a while and the food at Patisserie Torres was arguably better! I went for the first time last week and got a chocolatine pain au chocolat and a Feuillete Chicken, and both were to die for! The flakiness of the feuillete made it melt in my mouth. Prices were extremely reasonable as well!! Cannot wait to come back and try some other things!
