Don't waste your time with PCC. The classes and teachers are great, online classes are easy if you stay on top of it. The financial aid office is a nightmare. This past year has been exceptionally hard for myself and my family medical issues, tragic family loss along with me having a learning disability and needing to drop classes or failing. They needed me to fill out some paper on how I was going to do better to keep my financial aid. Did as I was asked and they still dropped my classes, placed me on hold and couldn't return my books due to opening them from plastic I was charged 400 something. I did as I was told and they said if I did I could still attend. FAT LIES. Not disability friendly.
Auto program seems like the only useful degree they offer here. Be real. Your Art, language, music, or psychology degree is useless in the real world. Even auto mechanic is going to be out of date in 10-15 years. As cars are becoming battery powered instead of mechanical
The disgusting behvaior of the Staff allowing a man's first amendment right to be stifled by others is completely unacceptable. Watching these videos of students AND staff behaving like grade school children is pathetic. You're suppose to be teaching people how to deal and live in the real world. I'm making sure everyone sees the kind of joke the colleges have become.
Horrible school and faculty no help to students no one wants to do there jobs so they’ll keep sending you to new people until you get an answering machine then they won’t call you back worst experience I’ve ever had trying to sign up for anything in my entire life would never recommend to my worst enemy then there va office is rude and will hang up on you also, I could go on don’t use your GI BIll at this college
Love the classes here, it's a nice campus, though it's a bit like being at a bomb shelter with all that concrete the buildings are made of. Lots of art classes but they do have more. The QRC is lovely and the people are friendly. If you are taking classes at PCC definitely you will love this campus!
Most the teachers are wonderful. The QRC is nice. The food is pretty okay. I like the class selection. Dealing with the financial side of things is a nightmare. One time my financial aid was delayed due to circumstances on their end that were out of my control. They said I was fine and my registration wouldn't be cancelled. Well, I wasn't fine and my registration was cancelled. And I got kicked out automatically of two classes I really wanted to take, and they were full so I couldn't reregister. They apologized but didn't get me back in my classes. In the future I was sure to email my teachers and ask them to let me back in if I got automatically deleted due to financial aid delays. Also now that I've graduated, they told me it would take 9-10 weeks for my diploma to arrive and it's been 5 months, and they are still telling me to expect delays. Yes I've contacted them about it, multiple times. I have literally no idea when it will arrive, but I'm not keeping my hopes up anymore. I'm disappointed, yes, but at least my credits were transferred, and hopefully the place I'm attending now won't be so weird about it.
I was at PCC 10 years ago while on an Expedition for a Special Eds group Field trip Since i wasnt Working that week at a School District or at a School :
The financial aid is good but professors here are a hit or miss. I've had some really great profs, but the ones that especially stand out are the ones that teach as if you won't put in the effort to learn. This feeling of going to class some days was so defeating, and it lowered my motivation in classes I was struggling with to reach out to professors who treats students like they are slackers until proven otherwise. I went here a few years ago now. I hope they've changed. Also, PCC really needs to build a larger more centralized location in downtown PDX rather than have this be their primary campus. It just doesn't work of commuter students, especially the ones that do not have a car. Plus, classes at Sylvania fill up quickly and are hard to get into. When I didn't have a car I had to commute over an hour to Rock Creek by two Max lines and bus from downtown PDX. It was an insane commute that students shouldn't have to worry about. Please fix this by building a central location. Taking classes at a distal PCC is frustrating when those are the only locations that have available classes for your schedule.
Looked like a nice campus. Lots of trees and natural areas around. Finding the a specific parking lot #8 in this instance was a little frustrating with one way exits and not knowing where the actual entrance was so -1 Star. But once the entrance was found all went well. Thanks for being willing to host Team Oregon motorcycle classes PCC!
The best school ever. Beautiful ambience and very nice employees.
