My experience with labor and delivery was great. Dr. Gamble-Webb did an amazing job delivering my baby. There’s just something about her that makes you feel calm and I never doubted her. My nurse for the majority of my stay including delivery was April and we absolutely loved her. The other nurses were mostly nice and the ones that weren’t nice wouldn’t really be considered “rude,” they just weren’t friendly. I was impressed that they did delayed cord clamping and the anesthesiologist did a great job with my epidural and she talked me through it to help me more comfortable since I was terrified. My ONLY complaint is that I was told my daughter would not have to leave the room unless she had a medical issue but for her 24 hour blood screen/hearing test a nurse came in and started to take her away and when I asked why it couldn’t be done in the room she laughed like it was just hilarious that I wouldn’t want my newborn baby out of my sight. My daughter was out of the room for 30-40 minutes getting her blood and hearing tests done and that made me very uncomfortable. She did return to me and was unharmed, but it’s just the fact that I specifically asked about her being with me at all times and then it changed that had me upset. It didn’t help that the nurse joked about showing me her name tags and things like I was being irrational to ask that my baby not leave the room. Overall, the delivery and the time leading up to it was amazing and I would highly recommend. However, if you are not comfortable with your baby leaving the room for their 24 hour testing this may not be the place for you.
The nurses are beyond kind & courteous. The 2 lovely ladies who did my neck x-ray and Marilyn the nurse who administered my medicine, were all super attentive and helpful. These ladies definitely chose the right line of work. They give me hope that there are medical professionals who pursue these type of careers for the right reasons … because they’re genuinely compassionate and good with people. On the other hand, I would’ve given 5 stars but SADLY the doctor Elizabeth Cooper I believe… was a bit condescending. I was in the ER b/c I was in a bad car accident. Yet her attitude made me feel under-minded & gave me the impression she didn’t think i was in any pain. She should know that some people feel shame showing pain or have a high pain tolerance. I’ve experienced so much pain and trauma in my life I’m desensitized… I could have a knife sticking out my chest and I would still be able to calmly walk myself to the hospital and keep my composure. It’s a proven statistic that black patients are more likely to die in the hands of a white doctors than our white counterparts, due to their inability to empathize with us and straight up implicit bias.
This is the best hospital I have ever been to. The staff was very accommodating and caring all from the gentleman that checks you in to the nurse that walked me to my car. They also were very knowledgeable about what was going on with me and pointed me in the write direction as to how to get healthy. Thank you. I can't remember all the night staff names when I came in but thank you all for your service. You all really made a sensitive situation more comfortable because you guys were so caring. And special thanks to nurse Alvarado. Thank you so much ma'am. I highly recommend this hospital. They treat you like a human being and not just a number. That goes a long way! Nurse Stacy and nurse Nikki thank you ladies so much
From the ER to ICU to regular rooms the staff has been EXCELLENT! My family has been beyond happy with each person we have come in contact with. I did battle with giving either a 4 or 5 star because the ER could really need some extra cleaning but once we got to ICU that wasn’t an issue. I decided to go with 5 just because of the wonder staff.
I recently had my first mammogram and was feeling anxious about the process. My experience was excellent. I am a nurse that has 27 years experience working in the health field and I know proficient quality care when I see it. Thank you to your mammography department for making my experience seamless.
I recently had a visit to the ER. The staff was amazing. Dr. Steven was informative and caring. The ER staff is professional and courteous. I can't forget my nurses. I might not remember their names individually, but they made me feel at home and cared for.
Sitting in the ER as we speak, 17 hours we've been here. I am waiting for my daughter to be transferred. No one has known anything about what's going on with my daughter or they obviously haven't even glanced at her chart. She was seen by a psychiatrist at 3 AM, it's now 2:36 in the afternoon and the nurses didn't even know she had been seen yet after asking for a update for hours!!!! I will never come back.
My experience with this hospital has been great. I wasn’t that big of a fan of the doctor who saw me when I went into the emergency room for my gallbladder. She didn’t seem like she really cared or like she wanted to find out what was wrong with me. She was about to just send me home, it was only after I suggested that it might be my gallbladder that she started to “investigate”. I’m not going to name her name though bc my experience could have been worse and at the end of the day she did figure it out and took care of the problem. But my 5 star review goes to everyone else I encountered and the customer service of this place. After my emergency visit they sent me a “get well soon” card in the mail. I thought that was cute and did not expect that from a hospital. I had to have surgery for my gallbladder and Dr. Jacob was amazing. Im usually very nervous at hospitals because I don’t go often but I couldn’t have been blessed with a better doctor for my first surgery experience. He was easy to talk to and made the process smooth for me and less nerve wrecking. I also wish I got the name of the nurse who prepped me for the surgery and the one who was with me in the recovery room. They were both so sweet and showed that they cared a lot. The hospital also called me after my surgery to make sure I was doing well and they said “they hoped I have a quick recovery”. I’m huge on customer service and little stuff like the card and the follow up call are the reasons why I’m writing this review. I’m glad I got to have my surgery at this hospital. The experience was definitely worth a 5 star review!
I have been living in Walton county for 60 years and had avoided the old hospital because it was so bad. When Piedmont took over and a new hospital was built I thought it would be better. I was wrong. It is terrible and I will go 100 miles to another hospital if I have to. My wife had replacement shoulder surgery and was in terrible pain the next morning and the nurse said he could not give her anything without talking with someone from the surgeons office. I told him to please contact them and see what could be done as my wife was crying from the pain. after waiting 10 minutes for him to come back and tell me what they said, I walked out to see what was going on and he was standing in the hall talking and laughing with another nurse. I asked what they said and he said " oh yeah, I need to text them". Maybe he will be in the same situation one day and see what that was like. It also took them 10 to 15 minutes to come in and help her to the bathroom. That behavior is unacceptable. I would give a minus 5 star if it were possible.
Absolutely one of the most horrendous hospitals in Georgia. Went in and was diagnosed with kidney stones. The entire time no medicine was given for pain not even Tylenol thought it was in the oath to do no harm?. Two of my IVs came out and got told by two nurses males to stop ripping them out which I have NEVER done and didn't like being accused. Kind of feel like that is why I wasn't given pain medicine honestly. Not my only issue with this hospital either, but this was the icing on the cake for me. Next time I won't go here even if I need help. I'd rather go to Emory than here. Shame on yall.
