Dr. Alonso specializes in the monitoring and treatment of heart and vascular diseases. In addition to his cardiology board certified, Dr. Alonso is also certified in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. These are painless, minimally invasive procedures to measure the activities and rhythms of the heart to rule out disease or arrhythmia.
In addition to serving as the Program Director for Cardiology Fellowship at Palmetto General Hospital, Dr. Alonso is also a Clinical Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University. He remains a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography. Horrible customer service. I have never had to leave a review for any Dr office. I work in medical field and know what it takes to speak to a patient in need. I am a cancer patient and Maria office manager stated that my health was an inconvenience to them and their schedule. Medical clearance for a surgery is not just any regular visit. For a patient who is under stress no one in the office nor Dr were professional enough to handle the situation. I discharged myself and will never refer anyone. Front desk had an attitude so I asked for office manager. Maria the office manager came and said my health was an inconvenience to their schedule. As if I wanted to be seen for fun. I need surgery in a week and if my EKG wasn’t sufficient, how is it my fault that an echo was needed in such short timing. I was never aggressive nor did I threaten them. I asked for their names to make my review and they denied. I found out the office managers name which is Maria because she decided to call 911 and say I was disruptive since I decided to stand not sit in the waiting room as I requested to speak to the Dr to give him my complaints. As it is she only called to scare me because she told them there was no need to come. I took video of the whole thing just in case, because that’s how bad it was that I needed something to prove that I was not at all aggressive. Dr. Raul Alonso never came to see what was wrong. None of them are professional enough to handle such situation. They have no regards to one’s health and the damage done. As I left the office both Maria and the Dr. came behind me and entered the elevator. I told the Dr how upset I was and that I would be leaving a review and he had no words other than to do what I had to do.
It is a pity that such doctor with such high reputation ends up treating a patient so disrespecfully i am not pleased with the way he trated my mother getting to the point of stating that she had psychitric illnes when to my knowledge he is a cardiologist not a phsychiatrist.And calling her a liar which in my point of view its something completly unethical. Would i go to him for help? No i wouldn't like he stated to my mother if you need something call 911 but never go back to his office.

Hello, and god bless you all, I been coming here for years, and I dont have any issues with no one, Doctor Alonso very courteous, kind, respectful and professional, the nurses sweet, kind and professional too, and the front desk Amparo very kind, very professional, i truly recommend this practice.
The staff is very rude the front lady Amparo has no manners she is the worse treating the patients really bad very disorganized office they don’t return calls don’t go to that office the worse
Dr Alonso has been my cardiologist since 2008 love this man for all his actions and generosity
I do not recommend attending this place at all. It doesn't matter if it's at Palmetto Hospital, at 49 Hialeah, or at Luna. If it comes to this question you will definitely get hurt. I don't understand how a professional, a doctor, can work with such an unprofessional, inept, inefficient and lacking in seriousness administrative team. If you want to be treated as if you were in a hospital in any municipality in Cuba, then go to this consultation and you will relive the same inefficiency and SHAME of the Island.
I wanted to thank Dr Alonso, for having guided me through the entire process towards a major heart surgery, he was patient, he explained the disease very well, he is very professional, and he knows his work, I recommend him 100%.
