This national park is impressive with 415 square miles of hiking trails and wildlife. Rocky Mountains National Park is one of our nation's most spectacular parks in USA. A wonderful park any time of the year with rugged mountain terrains, peaceful meadows, and natural scenic trails and peaks reaching over 14,000 feet high!! Timed entry pass must be reserved in advance. Some of the most popular parking lots fill up very early in the morning. There are free shuttles available within the park. Absolutely breathtaking views, lakes and great nature trails. We hiked the most popular and amazing trails; Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, and Emerald Lake. We enjoyed our hikes, it was a very memorable vacation. Highly recommend!
Such a beautiful and majestic place. Unfortunately my wife and I got the winter storm portion of the visit. I have been planning this trip for nearly a month, but could only enjoy the scenery. We were going to hike Bear Lake Corridor and the other surrounding lakes. Will have to plan for a different time of the year.
MAKE SURE YOU RESERVE A PARK PASS AHEAD OF TIME FOR ACCESS. IT IS A TIMED ENTRY NOW. Absolutely beautiful. Great drive with scenic views and pull offs. If you enter from Estes, I recommend you take the Old Fall River road first if you can. It's one way, dirt, and fairly narrow. A car can manage it during the dry season, but it's bumpy. Awesome waterfall and views. If you hit the peak season for aspens it has plenty of groves. Once you come out at the end of the pass you can take 36 back towards Estes and see the rest of the park loop. This will require you to backtrack if you're going to Grand lake as a final destination. We did it all with lots of stops under 4 hours. Restrooms: Plenty along the way Dog-friendliness: Some, but lots of hikes are not dog friendly. Picnic area: Several.
Incredible National Park!! First time driving all the way from the Grand Lake entrance to Estes park on Trail Ridge Road and it was amazing!! So many incredible views! The best way to see the whole park! Bear Lake corridor was very busy as expected for leaf peeping season and for Emerald Lake trail. Late September/early October expect hundreds of people at the bear lake trailhead. Enjoyed seeing and hearing the Elk, stellar jays, gray jays, and cute chipmunks. Looking forward to future visits!
The Rocky Mountains are a majestical place I went with my family and we went to nymph lake, dream lake, emerald lake and bear lake it was truly amazing and beautiful. We saw lots of beautiful wildlife including elk, deer, and bighorn sheep. I definitely think you should take a trip here.
Very few tourists & it was SO quiet & peaceful. Hadn't been here in over 5 years. My home state of WA has impressive mountains, but the Rockies are just..... priceless.
One of the most beautiful national parks I’ve been too. This park has a lot to offer: From lake trails to forestry trails, from short ADA strolls to mountain difficult day hikes. Highly recommended getting a permit and getting there early, most trail stops you can go and take the shuttle. Visitor centers are very informative as well!
One of the most beautiful national parks that I have ever been to. Do yourself a favor and get the plus entry to allow access to bear lake road as there are some breath taking hikes up to alpine lakes that are must see trails. Saw elk in the meadows and tons of other wildlife even on my short 5 hour visit.
All the movies and documentaries will never touch the experience of visiting this place in person. We went on a Wednesday during October so it wasn't very busy and we got the beautiful fall colors and even got snow at the top. Very surreal views. Saw elk and prairie dogs. Estes Park is also a very beautiful town.
I went at the end of September, and it was truly the best time to go. Listening to the elks bugle and their antlers clacking is so haunting, and the gold just springing out of the aspens is so wonderful. Warm during the day, but not too hot you’re drenched in sweat, and cool nights make this the perfect time to go. Absolutely magical experience. Except for the restrooms, stinky holes in the ground is the worstttttt!
