Pretty clearly accustomed to catering to students, the administrative staff was downright hostile to me a new community member and the student working the front desk was fairly clueless and apathetic. She misspelled both the name and email I provided her with multiple times. The administrative staff was unnecessarily rude when I asked about using their advertised first responder discount for my membership I’m a firefighter and she said “it’s not much of a discount anyway” after refusing to allow me to use the discount on a immediate family member’s account. There was no apology or explanation. She said “I don’t care if it’s your child, they pay full price unless they are a first responder themselves.” There was no “welcome to the community,” or even “glad to have you in our gym, thanks for your patronage,” even after spending $500 on an annual membership. I was pretty disappointed. It doesn’t anything to be nice to people and at a college, the administrative staff should be setting an example of hospitality for the students.
The volunteer staff were so pleasant! They even helped me carry in our event food and supplies! I'll definitely use their Wellness Center pool again for other events!
You get what you pay for. There's no place around that offers this much. There's a benefit too to working out next to a diversified group of people. It's more okay to work at your pace or level..no pressure to conform to someone else's performance level.
The gym facility is well equipped and very clean. There’s a pool upstairs weight lifting room a basketball court racquetball rooms mini tennis courts and showers. The gym is well worth it especially for students of shepherd university since it’s included in the tuition. The pool is not a leisure pool and is restricted to those who run laps only or swim teams you can’t just chill and goof around. The equipment is all well maintained and it’s by far one of the better gyms in the area. Definitely recommend.
Make sure you read the dress code policy before going!!!! Dress code is nowhere to be found on website, but enforce students and community to where only t-shirts no arm pits or mid drift showing. Geared towards elderly and not towards the students that are paying for the amenities in their tuition! Wish they were more accepting of a wider range of clothing choices that enable you to workout more comfortably.
Great facility and staff! Clean with lots of equipment!
They had public swimming while they were doing swim lessons. Felt that we were in the way when we wanted to play.

Been here a min times! Love the pool go there every single time I got here with my pap! Been in the pool on my birthday! Can't wait till I am 8 to go again here! So many memories and Gamez! Even made a new friend here!
Awesome place to pursue both physical fitness and social connections.
