The South Dakota Dashboard is your easy to use, all-in-one source for reliable and current South Dakota data.
The South Dakota Dashboard is an online community information service that provides people with reliable, up-to-date trend data on South Dakota. We seek to provide citizens and community leaders with statewide and local data and statistics for decision-making, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life in our communities.
Our geographic focus is South Dakota. We aggregate data at a multitude of levels including metropolitan/micropolitan regions, counties, cities, and American Indian reservations. Our data comes from many federal and state sources and is available in easy-to-use charts, graphs, and maps. We collect and manage this data with help from our partners at the Data Center at South Dakota State University, the Bush Foundation, and Wilder Research.
This data covers a variety of statewide community indicators ranging from income, to diabetes, to youth, and can be broken down by all counties and major towns in South Dakota, as well as sorted by age, race, or gender. With each of the major topic areas, we also provide an "Overview" section that includes recent data-related news stories and posts that we have aggregated to provide context to the numbers. As the project grows, we hope these stories will help users get the analysis they need to support strategic planning, policymaking, and business development.
In addition to our core activity of providing statewide content online, we provide a limited amount of free technical assistance and training to many local nonprofits, governments, researchers, and community organizations, as well as to the general public. We are also available on a fee-for-service basis to help with larger data projects, report writing, needs assessments, and assistance with grant proposals or reports.
The South Dakota Dashboard reserves the right to remove defamatory, offensive, or promotional posts by users.
