I had my hysterectomy at Ascension Riverside and it was a very pleasant visit. Everyone treated me with kindness and respect. I had no pain at all and was kept busy and entertained the entire time before and after the surgery. I would not hesitate going there again.
My experience was great from beginning to end. The staff was very knowledgeable, wonderful, kind and patient with me. I had outpatient surgery which went very well. Found it comforting having one of the sisters stop by my bed to pray for me, nurses, anesthesiologist and doctor prior to surgery. The staff keep me informed all through each stage. I am so very glad I chose to have my surgery at Ascension St. Vincent's
My surgery was handled with care & compassion from the moment we arrived. The nurses, anesthesia team, and my doc were wonderful. The team in recovery was very helpful and caring. They made sure I was steady enough to be discharged with all info necessary. Also called med hotline late at night and they responded promptly with answers to my question. Would not hesitate to return.
Medical care to the patient in every detail is THE BEST, along with a caring, informing spirit for their family. These are the primary needs for a hospital to fulfill - and in that order. The patient leaves knowing that everything possible was done to identify, correct, and present an action plan for ongoing care. And the family has detailed guidelines allowing them to leave informed on how to continue the healing process for their loved one. That comfort and assurance should always be present - at no charge - just a part of the culture of the institution and staff. Thank you St. Vincent’s! Note: I did not give 5 stars because there is always room for improvement.
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everyone was helpful, friendly, caring and very professional. The surgery nurses were wonderful and made you feel very comfortable. And one of the young ladies helping before surgery and the taking me to my car after surgery, Tasha was one of the friendliest and caring persons I had helping me.
Extremely kind staff. The procedure was smooth and on time. Dr. Uchal was amazing my incisions are extremely small and they were glued together so they should fade and not be noticeable over the next few months. The overnight crew of nurses were literal angels. And Andrew was great too!! Will definitely be recommending and if any other procedures are needed I’ll be consulting with St. Vincents!!
I was treated with kindness & compassion from the time I arrived, through the time I was released. My Dr. Is amazing and everyone from transport, to the nurses, the anesthesia team and everyone in recovery took excellent care of me. Upon release, I was comfortable with the instructions I was given. I couldn't have asked for a better team! I highly recommend St. Vincent's Hospital to anyone needing care. My family and I will not go anywhere else.
Faith at the reception desk was kind, welcoming, professional and very helpful. My wait time was very short and I was there for an X-ray due to a recent fall and ended up being able to also have a mammogram done which was a huge load off my mind as I’m past due. Techs Mary mammogram and Danny? I think?? Xray were also very kind and professional. I am especially grateful for the friendly, kind, respectful staff because I have had many less than pleasant experiences with medical staff and receptionists in the past. I am an RN myself and always try to give my best to my patients so it really stinks to not be treated well. I rarely do surveys but I felt this one was important!! Thank you!!
The 2900 ICU is amazing. They took care of my husband with dignity and compassion. I wish I would have taken pictures of the lovely room. Once he was out of crisis, he was moved to the 5300 floor. Dingy, dirty, and tiny. While I don't expect luxury in a hospital room, there was barely enough room for a loved one to visit. Don't get me started on the uncomfortable seating. Sometimes loved one want to sit with your patients all day. The difference in the level of care between 2900 & 5300 was obvious. I would have to remind them about things that should have been looked after. I understand that the pandemic hurt a lot of industries, it shouldn't take 4 days to get an inpatient test done. Attached are some pictures of the room. I have no idea what was splattered on the ceiling. *Shudder* The sink is from the women's restroom at the end of the hall near elevator D.
I took my partner to the ER Wed night. This was my first time in this facility but I've been to their other location on Southside. First 10 feet in the door and I was disgusted. There were two puddles of liquid on the floor. In a hospital it could be bodily fluids or a drink. Over 30 mins before a security guard cleaned it up with no gloves! The desk checked in my partner and another patient at the same time. We heard all of the patients info. At any other hospital they call the patients up one at a time to keep it as confidential as possible. Their bathroom was also disgusting. I didn't even take a pic of the rest bc it was gross. I've gone in bar bathrooms cleaner than that. They didn't seem too busy because it was really quiet but I'm not 100% but it took about 5ish hours from start to finish. The nurse practitioner was ok but definitely getting a second opinion. Went over two hours with no one checking in on us. I understand the staff is overworked and underpaid but the company needs to hire more staff. The nurse said the CAT scan was backed up. When taking pics I tried to be respectful to other patients privacy.
