So usually I'm pretty understanding about things but when your sitting in a small town emergency room which is actually a glorified urgent care for 4 hours and watch people with the same symptoms being taken back while you sit there is ridiculous. It's not like this is rochester there is no reason I should have been in the WAITING ROOM for 4 hours. Not to mention we all know once I would get back there it'd be another 2 hours before I'd be able to leave. I left. They need to figure out a better way to care for their patients maybe start off by letting them know it's going to be a 4 hour wait or atleast let them know it's going to be a long long time before they are taken back and also let them know they are going to watch everyone who was there when you came in go back and watch people who came after you go back while you sit there so that way they can atleast decide if they want to go somewhere else instead of wasting 4 hours and wind up having no time to go anywhere else.
I would always recommend going to Strong West ED, for most any emergency care. They are professional, caring and go out of their way to make you comfortable. The nurse Joanne is so caring and kind. We unfortunately have had to use their services several times in the last couple years and were always treated with respect and served swiftly.
Wonderful hospital and staff. I don't typically leave reviews but I wanted to share this, I went in with chest pain and shortness of breath. I was told I likely had pneumonia. The doctor wouldn't write me out of work! They prescribed me rest and relaxation.. but expected me to work a full shift on my feet as a waitress, constant walking and lifting. I ended up returning a few days after for further treatment where I was told I didn't have pneumonia I had a collapsed lung.. overall I love it here, it is a shorter wait than other hospitals I have always gone in with severe bleeding or chest pain, could be different for acute illness I appreciate the doctor's nurses, and I understand work is so hard when there's not enough people. But I will never understand why I was expected to work the next day after my diagnosis.
Unfortunately visited the ED with my elderly Mother this evening, but the staff made an unpleasant situation tolerable. My Mom was treated with respect and genuine care throughout the entire experience . We appreciate the kind and prompt service, thank you for everything you do, every day. A special thank you for the intake nurse working the late on a Saturday night, the awesome Nurse Josh, and fantastic Dr Cooper...all of your professionalism and kindness made an exemplary difference this evening. Take care, I am forever grateful.
Absolutely the worst service I have ever received in ANY Emergency Room. I went in for a concussion and possible whiplash. Nurse says I have vertigo nope then the PA says the same thing and proceeds to lay me down and turn my head to the side the whiplashed muscles immediately are in pain and it triggers a headache. PA leaves me there. Doc finally comes in asks questions and says “yup, sounds like a concussion”. Seriously?! I ask for testing to be done and am told they don’t do that. She proceeds to discharge me, but fails to address my whiplash. I get sent home and told to rest. That is a given. I honestly only went so I would have paperwork for my college so I could hand in assignments late and not mess up my 4.0 GPA. However, now I got the bill and they charged over $400 for doing NOTHING but writing a note. This place has always been less than stellar, but this is absolutely atrocious.
People don't realize that Strong West is more of an Urgent Care clinic than hospital Emergency Department. Strictly aj patch-em-up and send them home or transport to actual hospital. Liked it better when it was Lakeside Hospital, but they are there when you need them.
Xmas deistaster landed us in the emergency room. The employees were unbelievable friendly and got us out fast so we could go back celebrate Xmas with our family. Our doctor did outstanding job on our treatment and very calming. Thank you for missing your Xmas to take care of us, GREAT JOB
Clean, staff friendly and it was quiet so we got in and out fairly quickly. Both nurses we had were very kind. Gave 4 stars because we went in for possible pneumonia and I had to advocate to get a chest X-ray. Apparently that’s not an automatic? Not happy about that. But when I asked, they ordered it.
They care as quickly as they can. Fast check in process. Great nurses and providers. Clean.
Went to ED Friday July 30th, first person who came in was the PA, he was nice I was coming in for excruciating pain in my lower back and hip. I could hardly walk. He mentioned checking to make sure it was nothing more serious. Then a different dr came in and told me it looks like just a flare up of sciatic nerve pain, ran no tests, no X-ray nothing. Sent me home with muscle relaxers and suggested lidacane patches. They also gave me a lidacane patch and muscle relaxer at hospital. Next day I couldn’t stand up on my own my husband had to help me, went back to ED, saw a different dr, but it was made very obvious no one goes against the dr I saw the night before. Dr walks in and says there really isn’t anything we can do for you, except try something stronger, gives me A pain killer and another lidacane patch, still no x-ray nothing even though when he asked me to lift my leg he realized I needed support in order to do it. Was sent home with a prescription for the pain killer which is a controlled substance. Monday I am still struggling to walk I’m on medication I can’t work on, can’t drive on, is doing nothing but make me sleep. Go to see my dr, she sends me for x rays find out Tuesday I have a fracture on my S1. Will never return to this ED, they didn’t want to run tests on me, nothing just assumed it was sciatic nerve pain, why? Probably cause I’m plus sized ‍ had they done a simple x ray they would have found out it was a fracture. I am now waiting on an MRI to see the severity which probably could have been done or been referred fo Friday instead found out 4 days after initial pain, and had to wait an additional 2 weeks until I can get into an MRI. Still in pain, super disappointed and even more upset that I was misdiagnosed all because they didn’t want to run an X-ray.
