"Dr. Ken “Doc” Moody started Sylvan Veterinary Hospital as a mixed animal practice out of a little farmhouse in 1972. Doc’s desire was to provide great veterinary care to the surrounding dairy and horse community.Doc Moody retired in 1999 turning over the reins to Dr. Kipp Magnussen. Sylvan Veterinary Hospital continued to grow its reputation as a one of the premier veterinary hospitals in Stanislaus county.By 2006, SVH had completely outgrown it hospital and a new modern facility with new technologies were added to provide state of the art services in veterinary care for the community. At that time, Dr. Tiffany Hart and Ms. Vicky Shackelford partnered with Dr. Magnussen to help build one of the finest, veterinary hospitals in the area"

This is a great place to take your pets.  They are very friendly and always make your visit as easy as possible.  They are great with the care they give to our babies.  My pets are still scared going to the vet but don’t put up a fight like at other places.  I am very happy with Sylvan and will continue to take all my pets here.

Love this vet. The people here are all nice and the vet actually cares about our pets. They don’t do anything unnecessary just to up-charge. We bring all of our dogs and cats here.

I brought my dogs here a couple of times when we couldn't get in with our previous veterinarian. Our animals were treated with compassion and they were very thorough. Everything was explained and all our questions answered, not rushed out. I loved this office so much I applied for a job and that was the best decision of my life!!!! They go out of their way to make employees feel valued    level of care is TOP notch

Our dog was in need of hospice services and this place was amazing. We had time to love her and be with her when she passed and never felt rushed or a burden. They were empathetic and treated our baby with dignity up until the end and beyond. We are eternally grateful!

Wouldn't take may animals anywhere else. I've been using Sylvan for over a decade and I'm satisfied with the results. As a multi pet owner it's nice to know a reliable,  caring and knowledgeable Doctors and technicians. Yes, I've had hiccups in the past that was resolved, but nothing I'd consider a danger or risk to my pets. I have had, less than desirable results from other Veterinarians offices that have put past pets in danger. I couldn't imagine being without Sylvan Veterinary hospitals, especially when I needed an vet and a therapist @4am..

LOVE Dr. Pam, Dr. Kakarla and the staff. They took such great care of our Rhodesian Ridgeback after Cherry Eye Repair surgery, including putting up with all of his crying.  Our dog loves going to see the vet! Does it get better than that?

They help TNR feral and semi-feral cats, and they do a good job of it. This last one had an abscess and was bleeding. They figured out where it was and fixed it. I thought he had gotten his paw stuck and broken claws, but there was too much blood for that. They knew and found the abscess. Feral kitty is neutered, vaccinated and enjoying his life again outside. No more starving kittens here

I've been three times. With two different dogs. I'm never disappointed!! Great place in my opinion. And quick. Very friendly environment.

Fourteen year old Frankie loves Dr Chelse!  She has such a pleasant way with him.  She helped bring him back to health after a long battle with his digestive system.  The facility is clean and comfortable and the staff are very caring also and never seem stressed or rushed.  Frankie is healthier than he has ever been!
