- Serving as an advocate for health equity within health care research, delivery, and education;
- Providing education that exposes students and practitioners to the particulars and contexts of the urban patient;
- Integrating the social determinants of health into education, service delivery, and research;
- Being a public voice for underserved and marginalized populations locally and nationally;
- Improving access to research and clinical care in a fiscally responsible way; and
- Working with policy makers on ethical and urban health care issues that impact service delivery, medical education, and quality of care.
