Established in 1948, the Durham Art Guild (DAG) is one of the oldest non-profit, member-based visual arts organizations in the U.S. The DAG is located within the SunTrust Gallery at the Durham Arts Council Building in downtown Durham. We are a separate organization from the Durham Arts Council with a unique mission and objectives. We program and operate 2 visual arts gallery to showcase the work of regional artists. We offer education, professional development, and increased visibility for members. We create community partnerships to increase awareness of, and appreciation for the arts. The DAG programs quality year-round exhibitions, which are accompanied by public opening receptions during Third Friday Durham each month.
