Amazing RV park. Price is great!. Everyone that works there is real nice and the owner Tom is a great guy. Food & drinks: Macy Lous Country Store. Great sandwiches and shakes even have essentials like TP and toothpaste 1 stop shopping. Dog-friendliness: dog park and dedicated poop areas
Large sites, clean restrooms/showers, pool is nice with a lot of area to relax and enjoy the weather. Seasonal and transient travelers were all great. Felt like home. Staff is helpful for the most part. Looking forward to coming back. Only down fall is Cell coverage isn’t great for Verizon and AT&T and the local internet provider isn’t that good either for the cost. So working from the RV was a little difficult, but do able.
Nice grassy lots. Nice pool. Great restaurant. Wonderful people!
We have stayed here a couple of times a few years ago. Didn't come back because the place was starting to look bad. However, we heard that a lot of work had been done so we gave it another try. We have a 42ft diesel pusher and had a back-in site. Backed in and a few feet away from hookups the two back tires just sank into soft sand up to the rims. There was no way for us to get out on our own because the sand piled up all around the tires. The Glades sent over maintenance who was just a single older man in a golf cart who, obviously, couldn't help. The Glades couldn't even provide the number of a towing company. When I said I expected to be repaid for any tow costs, I was told no because it wasn't their fault!! Finally got a tow through our insurance company and left as soon as we could. Of course, The Glades doesn't credit back to your credit card, you have to wait until checks are cut. Never coming back here again.
Marci is always looking for a reason to kick someone out of the park, no matter how petty the reason. If caught, and I quote “You will be asked to leave the park immediately!!!” Witnessed the guy that runs the golf course screaming at some kids walking on the golf course. Heard from others that this is quite common for him to do Marina is an absolute dumpster. You are NOT allowed on the docks at all. PRIVATE PROPERTY. But there’s a half sunk pontoon with a rotten floor that the park says you can fish from. At your own risk Some boats started sinking last fall and the park has done nothing about it, recently there’s been diesel fuel on top of the water in the marina as one of them has sunk further. Poor turtles, birds, gators, fish… So that’s how they treat the people here, and the wildlife. Things could be so much better with some new staff. Maybe they’re burnt out, maybe they don’t care, but they need to do better. It’s sad that a place so beautiful is being spoiled by the people that run it.
We took a cross state trip by boat from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa and stopped that Glades for a night halfway. When we arrived, we were greeted by Captain Rick and Theresa. They helped us tie up and assisted in getting us directions to our night accommodations. We stopped at Grumps for apps and beers which was excellent. Very Friendly staff/patrons, cold beer, and food. Rick kept an eye on our boat overnight and added an extra line to keep it safe. This place is very remote lots of wildlife, gators, turtles, and manatees. No Cab or Uber service available however there is cell and WIFI. If you want a friendly place in the wilderness away from everyone and everything this is it.
We stopped there on one of are many travels. Thinking well we were tried what the heck let’s try it out. Comes to my surprise it’s beautiful. Very friendly and very clean. So many things to do. From gold to kayaking around the man made resort. It’s like a big lazy Susan water park. And they have a beautiful swimming pool. They even have a garden that they made to plant vegetables in to share. Very nice and quite. Highly Recommend this place.
Very nice, large, clean campground. Pools is a little small for the size of campground, but is was very clean. We visited during off season and was with a group of 13. We filled the pool. So not sure how they accommodate when the campground is full. Otherwise our stay was great. Spots are good size.
My husband & I have been full time residents for almost a year & a half here at Glades. While this park does not have luxury accommodations, this is a great family friendly park! The golf course is beautiful & reasonable priced. The marina is probably my our least favorite area, but other than some junk that has been allowed to accumulate by some of the older boats, the marina area is fine. My husband & I don’t own a boat, so we rarely visit this area. The grounds of the park are well maintained & offer plenty of space for each site.. As far as the “employees”, we ALL can’t get along people!! There’s NOTHING wrong with the employees who work hard & represent this beautiful park. Sure...we all have BAD days. Give them a break! But “if”...there is a problem...communicate “like an adult”! This park gives you a “peace of mind”, with the service & amenities they offer, especially at this price! If you want the “Ritz Carlton”, then go to the flipping Ritz & enjoy your hefty bill when you check out! The new laundry room is NICE & greatly appreciated! And did I even mention Crumbs Restaurant? We absolutely LOVE this small Cafe’! Mrs. Crumb offers a good selection for breakfast & lunch & is open daily, and at affordable prices. And they definitely give each patron the same “welcomed” feeling. The pool area is well suited for this park as well. There is a large “community building”, that offers many different community activities, such as a church service, holiday gathers, various classes, music entertainment, fresh farmers market in-season & many other activities. We find this RV Community a special place for us to call our “temporary home”! I find these reviews very important & think it’s a shame for those who write false information, either for a positive or a negative comment. I we do know that this park is growing stronger & stronger with its new owner. So...perhaps as they continue to grow they will elaborate more on their responses when reviews are submitted. People in general like to know that their voice in this case, writing is heard. Again...for the good or bad comments. So...saying all this...it is my our opinion that the Glades RV Park is great & will continue to highly recommend it!! Happy Camping!! The Rollingramblers
We have been coming to this park for 10 years now and have been seasonal now for 7 years. We have been here through 5 different management teams now, and I am so happy to say that the new team is just awesome. Marcie has been great! She actually will talk to you if you need something or have an issue and she will get it taken care of. This has not been the case previously with all of the other teams. Penny is also very nice, helpful and always happy. There have also been so many improvements done to the park and they are still continuing. The new laundry room is wonderful. The biggest and best change that I have seen is the golf course. When we first started coming here the course was pretty much a dried up cow pasture and don't even ask about the greens. The course has recently done nothing but get better and better. Everyone is so excited to have Marty here to run it and we expect it to just keep getting nicer and more like the championship course that it is advertised as. The course has become such a big draw that it is hard to get a tee time during season.
