These people are derelict in their responsibility for safety.  We could have been killed by an issue that they allowed to persist.  Will allow the photo to speak for itself regarding the safety issue. When we returned after having to change the tire ourselves, we weren’t offered so much as an apology. Absolutely nothing was ever done to resolve the issue despite multiple phone calls and emails to both the airport location and corporate. Lastly, the return area was filthy as was the rental office. Thrifty, with a capital T for Trash.  Rental contract number 813315215.

The wait time to pick up a car at RDU airport is unacceptable and unbearable. There were only 2 agents available to check people in. One couple was at the desk for way to long, holding up the line. I have no idea why. There has got to be a more efficient way to do this. Present your ID, decline the coverage, sign the contract, and get the keys. 60 seconds and it should be done. Why is this so time consuming and painful? I don’t understand it.

Car was not ready upon arrival. 2 hour wait despite having a reservation. No compensation for time wasted. Returned 2 hours early to find charging infrastructure for electric car, was not allowed to use on site chargers, was not allowed to leave to use off site chargers, and thus charged an extra fee. Not as advertised. Avoid. Use Hertz instead

This location deserves negative stars.  They are not properly staffed for the number of customers.  There was 1 Thrifty employee for check ins and a very long line.  The Hertz employees did occasionally help but it was not sufficient.  The second red flag should have been that the staff was not inputting the returned cars into the system so they could not assign us a car.  We were told to just go pick one.  During our rental the tire pressure was low.  Luckily we were able to inflate it and it was fine back to drop the car off.  The worst comes at drop off.  The sign says "Leave the key in the car and go".  No paperwork, no electronic sign off, nothing.  Then days later I notice extra charges per day on my credit card and we are getting phone calls about returning the car or the police will be called.  I call the number available and explain.  They tell me they will put in a closure request with my understanding that the extra 7 days will be removed.  No such luck.  They closed it alright but with 7 extra days worth of charges and additional other fees and taxes totalling $1300 more than estimated.  I called again and the only recourse was they will submit this to the location and call back in 5-7 days if you haven't heard anything.  Of course I haven't heard anything.  I call again and they tell me the location has not responded and they will have to contact them again and wait another 7 business days.  I've been dealing with this for 19 days at this point.  I have submitted to my credit card company to decline charges for being overcharged.  I hope that gets me somewhere.  I need some way of escalating.  The call center doesn't have any power.  They just go by a script of what they can say.

they are sharing a building and a counter w Hertz and Dollar. Waited for the shuttle for 15 minutes while all other car rental vans were coming and going. Got to the counter, long line took forever! One lady sitting there, doing nothing. Finally, THE nicest guy helped me.  45 minutes after I left the terminal, I was finally omw. S

The worst experience I’ve ever had with a car rental agency. The line to check in was outrageous and took almost a hour. Don’t waste your time or money with this agency. Rent with Turo or something highly more professional and efficient. When booked online the total was $400. When we went to check out the total was almost $900!! When I questioned the lady she got rude and wouldn’t talk to me. The hidden fees make the rental even double the amount it states online.

We are 100% satisfied with everything. Friendly staff at pick up and return. We had had a real bad experience with another big known car rentabel before but Thrifty was perfect, 5-10 minutes waiting time and no intempt to sell any additional services like anywhere else. You can chose your car from a certain parking zone yourself which is great as you can review the conditions and pick the best. From the bad experience before we asked for an immediate confirmation when returning the car which they kindly did as we had an additional fuel charge with the other car rental even though we filled up the tank and left the receipt in the car. We took pictures of everything and got a refund. Thrifty was a good experience for us but we recommend taking pictures of everything before returning, the car, filled up tank, receipt and mileage and ask for any immediate return confirmation.

Check in and drop off were quick. The shuttle to and from the airport was very fast as well. Excellent customer service. They gave me the lowest price too. Highly recommend them.

If I could give them no stars at all, I would.  I stood in line for over an hour  longer than my flight while the people at the desk stared at their computer screen for 5 minutes at a time, left and took their break , leaving only 1 Thrifty rep at the counter, Laughed and joked with another employee that sat there and did nothing but distract the entire time. I reserved and paid for my car online ahead of time with extra insurance, I didn't get the model of car that I reserved.  The car I got was dirty , dented , plastered with dead bugs, had a big hole in the back seat, the windshield wiper was shredded, no floor mats , no Sirius radio. And then after all that ....I was charged on my credit card for over $400 for the rental.  They typed in my license number and credit card number into the system. Why did they not see that I had a reservation that was already paid for ?  I will never deal with this company again.

I was there for nearly 2 hours when picking up my car. One hour in horrible long line due to minimal number of staff to help then stuck at the exit gate for nearly an hour because of admin errors that the agent servicing me had made. Had to pay two deposits due to admin error again booked through thrifty ended up with a Hertz car. Crazy unprofessional at best incompetent add worst. Only grace was the two young man servicing the exit gate that night very polite and tried everything to get my mess sorted out. Bad advertisement of being a good company.
