I’ve had many, MANY procedures here. And with as many medical personnel that I’ve encountered, not one person has ever, EVER been even a minuscule of a fraction below “abundantly caring / genuinely concerned / & hospitably accommodating! Dr. Dellon is a godsend, as are the nurses, anesthesiologist, assistant surgeons, and all of the rest of the staff. I highly recommend this facility; fantastic people!
Worst care I have EVER received!!! The front desk lady was very rude not only to me but to other patients!!! So when they tell you to get there an hour before your appointment, don't bother... they don't even call you up to the desk until 30min before!!! Then the nurse who eventually started my IV felt that she could easily find a vein even when I informed her of my extremely annoying vein issues. She disregarded my words and had to stick me twice because she thought that my best possible vein was on my wrist right next to my bone. Painful doesn't even begin to describe it. I screamed so loud and told her to take it out, she hesitated and asked me if I was sure she wanted her to do that. I looked at her and said, YES TAKE IT OUT NOW! And then the icing on the cake was waking up from my procedure disoriented and wet. When I looked to see why I was wet, I realized that I was covered in my own bowel matter!!!!! Now I have had colonoscopies and endoscopies galore, for well over 25 years and this is the first time I've ever been in recovery covered in my own fecal matter!!!! And when my friend who came with me asked the nurse if she could please get me some wet wipes, she was told to wait a minute and that she'd be right with her. This level of care is something I'd expect at a crappy local hospital or sadly a nursing home..... NOT UNC!!!! And I have been a patient in the UNC system for a good amount of time. This was humiliating and unacceptable and I have informed my doctor to NEVER send me back to Meadowmont!!!!!
This was my second visit to this facility. The first visit I traveled by car. The second visit I traveled by bus. The bus trip was far more interesting and rewarding. Both visits were for medical appointments. The 'V' bus you can catch on the UNC campus by the pit. The 800 Go Triangle bus, you catch in front of Carolina coffee on Franklin. Both will put you close to the UNC Meadowmont facility. If you drive, there is plenty of parking. The building and outdoor parking is handicap accessible. The 'V' bus stops are serviced by protected seating.
A colonostomy can be an experience that causes you to have stress waiting for the procedure. From the check in to the recovery, I received caring and professional care from my doctor, anesthesiologist, and nurses. Thanks for putting me at ease!
The doctors are good and the nurses are relaxed but the only thing that I noticed while I was there there was 3 def people take pictures of women with out there consent and it wasn't from the front but from the rear where it's inappropriate and should not be tolerated by unc hospitals or there clinics that is against women's rights and privacy and I told the people inside heart and vascular center and they did nothing to prevent it
Caring helpful staff. Lucky to live close enough to use their Vascular Interventional team to have a port installed.
Great experience and wonderfully friendly and experienced staff.
